Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF
Red line set at 7,000. We are not changing down for the esses and the engine has just enough torque to pull us through in third. With young Olly driving and changing into second, his esse sector time is only a few hundredths quicker. It's a lot simpler for us old codgers not having to worry about a ...

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF
Glad that you are enjoying the saga of the FF. The season finished at Shelsley Walsh in September when my pal Jim Payne was able to share the car with me after two years fighting bowel cancer and the necessary chemo. All through the black days he had the dream of competing at Shelsley after his 80th...

Re: PMO fuel injection questions:
Graham, I have found the invoice but it has no specific part number. It is described as a "911 kit with 116mm pulley , 2.4 litre and later" The current Clewett web site gives its price as $1279 which is what I paid three years ago!

Re: The house where Jenks grew up
Great story, it was Jenks writing about his 356 in Motor Sport which kindled my love for Porsche. I bought my first one, a 1958 A cabriolet from Newton Oils who were the agents in Birmingham at the time. Brings back lovely memories. Thanks.

Re: PMO fuel injection questions:
It has a toothed wheel on the crank and fires three coils in succession. Each coil fires a cylinder on each bank simultaneously I.e a dead spark. I'll look for the invoice and give you the actual part number. My engine has Webers.

Graham,
I have a Clewett system on the 904FF (2.4S) and up to the time of speaking it has been absolutely bulletproof. I recommend it!

Wonderful work. From one that has been through a build programme, I appreciate how much effort has been expended, I doff my cap or should I say 'bunnet"!

Re: Shelsley Walsh 14/15th Aug
The tape was to hold up the tow strap. Nothing serious.
It was a great meeting and The FF is now getting me up Shelsley Walsh regularly in the 37's. 36 secs here we come!

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF
It was Classic Nostalgia at Shelsley over the weekend and Young Olly Wright and I were sharing the FF. I had bee chipping away at my times at Shelsley this year and was now in the low 38's . Olly on his first timed run on Saturday did 36.44 secs and on handing over, assured me that the car would go ...

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF
I have just about thawed out after a day at Blyton yesterday. It was absolutely freezing and we were reminded that there is nothing between Blyton and the Urals. As usual on a test day there was good news and bad news. Let's do the good news first. The car was handling like a dream. Mike West and Ol...

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF
The main job that I asked Andy to do in the winter of 2020/2021 was to change the transmission. I had been running for the last two years on a box that Mike Bainbridge had loaned me when he had built up the engine. This as you will remember has two first gears. Over the 2020 and 2021 seasons the cha...
