Re: 901 gearbox tool

I said the Old Timers Disease is getting worse. Any reference to Brian should read Mike. I have no idea who Brian is!

Re: 901 gearbox tool

I have been down to Mikes today and he has removed the dog teeth ring by cutting it with a grinder and expert use of a chisel! New dog teeth, syncromesh ring, brake band and stop now fitted to first gear but Brian advised that the dog teeth on the slider are knackered. Brianhas kidly supplied a slid...

901 gearbox tool

Help please Does anyone have or know who may have the tool to remove the dog teeth ring from 1st gear on a 901 gearbox. I made a puller which fitted on the dog teeth ring and fitted under the circlip but that didn't work as the top land on the circlip groove broke off. Now I am completely knackered ...

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF

Thanks for info on Brandwood Cars and their scheme. My pal Peter Bentley and I have designed a cable scheme which we shall share with you all when we we have it installed and checked that it works. At the moment I have a Porsche Boxster gear lever installed in the cockpit, have made a mounting brack...

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF

Well, here we are back again. I am back in Scotland after the first outing of the 904FF at Shelsley Walsh which did not go entirely to plan. In fact it was a bloody disaster. I had two major problems 1) the engine would not go properly and the Dellortos kept flooding and in fact at one point the eng...

Re: 911T modifications

Thanks for the advice and suggestions.

I suffered from finger trouble in my original email, the engine number is 208 - 0700 and 2000cc so is a 901/03 type as has been pointed out.

911T modifications

Some years ago I bought 911T engine 00203-700 in a serious of cardboard boxes. It appears to be all there except for the alternator/fan and housing but includes the Webers. I am starting to think of the next project and would like to rebuild this engine to give around 150/160 HP at a reasonable cost...

Rich

You haven't been in my workshop, have you? Your filler cap looks identical to the one that I have misplaced!.

I love your tank, lovely job!

I am hoping to get my 904FF on the road and do a few hill climbs but not looking forward to the IVA test.

914 boot push button lock

Has anyone a 914 rear push button lock that they are prepared to sell.

My plan was to use as many parts of a donor 914 on my 904FF ( see in replica section) and the boot lock was suitable as the external door lock. Unfortunately my donor car had only one rear boot!

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF

Well, back again to continue the saga. As I have been writing these notes I realise that my time line is all mixed up so the story is not necessarily sequential but just as I remember it. Those who know me will appreciate my problem! There is one little story that I am forced to tell against myself....

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF

For those of you waiting for the next instalment, be patient, I will get it out in the next few days. I would invite "Pandora" and any others to come and see the car at any time. My pal Alex and I have just brought it back from Yorkshire on Monday having had a proper exhaust system and a r...
