Re: Wot, not another '79 Targa resto thread
For making the tight bends on the brake pipes I got a plastic bottle with a long tapered neck (like a tonic water bottle), filled it with water and clamped it in a vice. Then pulled the brake pipe around the neck of the bottle and achieved lovely tight bends every time.

Just had a quick look. I think it would be nice to either filter cars by country or see their location without having to click into the individual listings

Sad to hear this about your engine.
I find the only way to resolve how you are feeling is to take back control. Go and pick the engine up what ever state it's in, breath a sigh of relief that you got it back, then work on a new plan to get it completed. Best of luck.

Re: Website
Just curious, what format do they use to give you back your content if you want to go elsewhere? Graham Pretty sure you can just copy backup for directories then cover onto another host? That will just leave registering the new location? Not always that easy as most of these are a sealed SAAS (Soft...

If you use one of the one stop shop hosting / web design places just check if they will allow you to transfer your content to another webhost should you need to. Many dont and you would have to start all over again.

Re: Bent 356
If the quote to repair comes into too expensive and the insurance co say they will write the car off , see if you can do a deal with the insurer to take a lower cash alternative so you repair yourself and they don't write the car off. I've done this before. Everyone wins.

Re: 59 356a (BXE 435)
The main thing the inspector is checking is the chassis number, and this has to still be stamped into the shell. This has caused no end of problems for the old ford crowd, as the chassis number on old fords is stamped into the strut top plate, and they usually rusted out years ago.

Re: 21st Century Outlaw 997 Project
Loving this. You mention a £10K investment, but that must exclude the cost of the Audi which owed you £5K.
Did the 997 come with any history, and what was the mileage?
