Re: 993 c2s.... Are they really worth that type of money?
Hi Tom, Hope all is well with you. Finished that Gemini Blue ('72E?) resto yet? The side profile is nice as well. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8676/16602387735_3f401206f8_h.jpg 4G2O1583.jpg by T M Paterson , on Flickr Looks all right, I suppose. Good point about ride height, if only for aes...

Re: 993 c2s.... Are they really worth that type of money?
I am biased, as owner for several years of a 993 Carrera (so narrow body). I also have a 69S. My 2p: A C2S is loverly, but... Price difference compared with a narrowbody 993 is quite large. Perhaps not justified. Usually found on 18s and in that spec they tend to drive noticeably heavier than a NB o...

Re: Instrument refurb
I saw a thread on here recently re a UK company who had done a really awful job for a DDK member. They should be avoided. Unfortunately I can't remember the name! Perhaps somebody else can? Here's the relevant thread: viewtopic.php?t=50172 I've just had a speedo done by Julian Reap, all good. Altho...

Re: 1970 UK RHD 911 2.2S - Diary
Ouch! Sorry to hear. I saw your car at the end of last summer, up at Neil's place. It is indeed lovely. I'm sure the engine is in good hands. Give me a shout when it's back, if you fancy a run out to leafy Surrey. I would love to see it again as inspiration for my ongoing 2.2S resto. Cheers, Richard.

Re: Wanted: Front Turn Signal Housings
Has anyone seen Marek's repros? I hear (just rumour) that the quality of those is the best among repros. But I have not seen them so can't properly comment. Super rare, but I seem to recall someone doing them in fibreglass? EB do them, sort-of. Rears stock fitment, Fronts intended as backdate so to ...

Re: Back in beige
Ouch! Beard scratching was safer. I've done a bit of that today and, as a result, have hardly broken anything at home. When the above is sorted out and you don't want it to rust again - please accept a personal recommendation for ACF50: http://www.learchem.com/products/acf-50.html http://www.pistonh...

Funny old colour isn't it, red in the workshop and orange in the sunshine..... Re: Back in beige
Jamie, I've enjoyed your build thread very much - many thanks. More recently I'm enjoying your musings / anguished cries for help of a tortured soul. Couple of thoughts. I shall be as pretentious as possible to make you look down-to-earth: 1) The very fact that you are considering this deeply, and h...

Hi Tom,
Very very nice.
I like the BBSes - have gone in a similar direction with my 993:

(Unlike yours, mine wasn't clean at the time of the photo and it's definitely not clean now!)
Cheers, Richard.

Perfect day, I'd say. Proper lunch and a beautiful shell, home safely.
Congratulations and good luck with the rest of the story.

Ouch.
I think I know roughly where that is in Shanghai (French Concession somewhere - the trees are characteristic). If I'm right, it's really not the place for Le Mans driver fantasies...

Here's a repro of how Porsche did it on the R: http://www.st-classic.com/oil-breather-catch-tank.php Or if you are really cool you just use a Motul oil can: http://www.maxted-page.com/resourcelibrary/managed/29b170ea-699c-409a-b47b-ec342cec885c.jpg http://www.maxted-page.com/cars/car-details.aspx?id...
