Re: Engine bits n bobs needed

If the spring clips become worn out they rocker covers will leak regardless of gaskets, they are available from Vw heritage etc, I may have an alternator elbow if you haven’t found one, send me a pm

Re: Where can I get one of these oil pressure switches?

The switch you have there is a normally open switch so it’s reading correctly, as in it should be open circuit with no oil pressure and will close lighting the light, what issue do you have ?

It does look like a switch and an adapter

Re: Type 4 / 914 engine stand adapter / yolk

The universal engine stands require removing the flywheel which I prefer not to do, the type 1 engine fitting is the same as a type 4 one

Re: Mystery steering wheel

A Google image search on MG Midget steering wheel shows this. Note the bolt pattern. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/EisAAOSwXYtYxsEh/s-l300.jpg Another image shows what looks rather like your wheel: https://img.pistonheads.com/Thumbnail/mg/midget/1300--one-family-owner/mg-midget-1300--one-family-ow...

Re: 911 Backdate

personally I like the window surrounds and the bigger wheels, I prefer the steel bumper, looks a fair car for fair money, more of an omage than a backdate I suppose

Re: Timesert or helicoil...?

Depends how much material you have to work with, timeserts and much thicker than a helicoil, helcoils are perfectly fine and just as strong as the original thread would have been.
