Re: Manual EV 356

Haha - dont get me wrong, this would never be anything other than a last resort if the worst comes to the worst…just thought that of what I have seen to date, this seemed one I could potentially live with…if the alternative was to never drive the 356 again.

Manual EV 356

Very impressive if you ask me.

With the costs of an engine rebuild…and with an eye on the future…this seems a very credible alternative and without losing the whole classic experience.

Re: Selling via Collecting Cars auction ...

The Alfa looks lovely. Really good luck with the sale. I sold a 928 via SA and found them easy to deal with - the car failed to fetch what I wanted, but they did increase the amount I received a little so was happy to sell it - all very easy. Have a friend who has sold a Lotus Elan Plus 2 and a TVR ...

Re: Early Momo horn button

Thanks for the tip off. Made a cheeky offer and it was accepted and it arrived today - just what I was after.

Re: Sad news : Dessie Nutt , one of my fellow historic rally

Sorry to hear this.

He rallied his 911 at the same time as the prior owner of my car (Terry Brown) rallied it

See them both here - 28secs is Dessie and then my car (HDE102D) follows straight after…

Starter motor

My 66 SWB with hotted up 2.2S spec ali case engine, high compression pistons etc is suddenly strugging to start. No high pitch gear on gear noise, just struggling to crank - it will eventually catch and then engine runs fine. I am changing the 7 year old battery out but i think the starter is probab...

Re: Harry's Garage - Sports Purpose '65 911

Some great press coverage for them, and doubt they would ever look to recoup all of that £350k spend if they ever did sell?

A mate asked two prominent places to quote for a SWB hotrod with similar spec (minus the extravagance of Connolly leather etc) and it was £250k + all the way

Re: Harry's Garage - Sports Purpose '65 911

It’s clearly a resto mod and uses a lot of nice / expensive period parts including a 65 base car etc. Harry is quite tall but it’s probably as much to do with shape and what you are used to. An easy fix if that is the only issues. I think it’s a cracking car and would love something like that (but ...

You may have seen but Dominic Chinnea off The Repair Shop is restoring a rusty 356A and may well be very interested in this.

He is on instagram.
