Engine numbers
I've not got an engine number in the usual place on the case, just a blank space with made in Germany underneath where the number is usually stamped. The only marks I can see is a small "k" on a web behind the distributor. I've assumed this was an early Porsche replacement engine under war...

Thanks timo, car may of been at revival, - it was around the London area for a while, then went to Scotland, came back and was laid up for about 6 years, that was three years ago. Will take a look at the hi torque starter. Originally a Nevada car until 1989

Starter motor removal advice
Hi, quick question, should the bolts holding the starter motor be Allen bolts or standard bolts / nuts - I seem to have one of each on mine. Any advice on best place to get a new starter, mine packed up today. Any advice on bast way to get to the top bolt?

rear bumper to body seal
hi, does the rubber seal that fits between the body and lower rear wing section have a foam strip that fits between the seal and upper body section ? when i removed the section there seemed to be a strip sandwiched between although it had pretty much disintegrated, rubber seal is OK.
