Re: Maddening Running Issue
The hunting is probably because the pressure isn’t enough to open the injectors, until the pump builds enough pressure then they open & pressure drops until they shut, then repeat.

Re: Using a snap-on timing light
Yes, set the strobe to the expected advance at say, 2k then Rev to that and you will see if the flash is early or late. Then tweak the strobe setting until you get to actual figure which matches up with TDC. That will give you the absolute advance and if you want the relative advance deduct the stat...

Probably… but they won’t be shouting about it I’d imagine.
Just need a vin plate or even just a fond memory as the starting point.
Was watching Ivan Dutton’s YouTube channel recently and he was talking about recreating Bugattis for customers.

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod
Small thing I found helpful to better understand automotive wiring (especially fuse values). The fuse has only one purpose- To protect the wiring. The wiring is sized to suit the expected current load. So the fuse is sized based on the capacity of the wire, so that it will blow before the wires melt...

Re: Maddening Running Issue
Thanks Bruce. I can hear the cold start dropping neat fuel into the intakes so I don’t think that’s the issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The exhaust smelling of unburnt fuel should confirm that. I like to use the brake cleaner test because I might hear the injectors ticking but that doesn’...

Re: Maddening Running Issue
First test is always the same.
Spray something flammable into the intake (brake cleaner, Ezi-start, etc) and see if it runs better. Which answers the question of a fuel problem or not.

Quite simple inside.
A video on the internals. This is the typical Amazon item and he actually mentions the weak spot in the video.

Digital power probe tool
The probe has a current limiter inside. So if you apply 12v or ground & accidentally create a short the wiring will not go up in smoke. That means you can’t power a starter directly but it’s safer. When put the loom back in, I didn’t put in the fuses. I used the probe to check each circuit &...

Re: Digital power probe tool
I had weak rear lights on one side. Probe the hot side of the bulb connector shows it’s got power. With the bulb in place probe the earth side & it also shows power. Disconnect the earth side wire & probe the wire & it indicated a connection to earth. Reattached & bulb is still dim. ...

Re: Digital power probe tool
Yes. I bought one & immediately bought one for my brother. Great kit.
The cheap one from Amazon is all you need but treat it nicely as the internal connection is a bit weak (I need to repair mine with a bit of solder).

Re: 20mm wheel spacers for 7R
Probably the most common use, although the studs have a 911 part number (91133167100) so possibly had other uses.
