Re: 1973 911E RHD Light Ivory and ex NZ...another one.
My car may have left NZ before yours but my money is on you completing your restoration first! Given it is only £5 I suggest completing a V888 now rather than waiting until you get an MOT. I know you can't register the car yet but there would be no harm in asking for the previous history now. Best o...

Re: 1972 RHD 911T Coupe
Thanks for the words of encouragement. In no particular order, I don't know why it went to NZ. It does seem strange to take it all that way and not then do what was required to put it on the road. It did change hands a couple of times while out there. Unlike the UK there is no V5 or the like for car...

1972 RHD 911T Coupe
I thought I should start a restoration thread for my car. First, a summary of its main good points: 1971 (1972 model year) 911T Coupe RHD supplied by Agnew in Belfast on 13th December 1971 Original 2.4 engine and 5-speed gearbox 78000 miles recorded Original Fuchs alloys Period Recaro seats Photos b...

Re: Classic Car Rescue.
I noticed the disclaimer at the start along the lines of 'some of this is made up for entertainment'. Some would say it all was but the power cut and the central locking failures looked contrived.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Having managed to remove enough rusty bolts and screws to remove the nearside window and door frame yesterday, I thought I would tackle some cleaning today as the screws won't budge yet to remove the window motor. When I got my car it came with a bucket of parts. I am not sure all actually come from...

DDK courier service please Tamworth going north
I would be extremely grateful if anyone was able to assist with getting a front bumper for an early 911 from Tamworth. There is no immediate rush to collect but having had a couple of other arrangements fall through I am hoping someone here can assist. Although I am in central Scotland my brother-in...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Having left the removal of the wiring loom for the interior lights while I thought about how awkward it may be to refit, I decided yesterday to remove it but it would not come out. I had another go at it today and once it eventually came out I could see why I had so much trouble. http://i988.photobu...

Re: Removal of items from dash
Thanks to all. I had already labelled and removed all wires as well as the dash top so access was no issue. For the cigarette lighter after pushing a thin screwdriver between the rubber seal and the casing it was enough to loosen it to allow me to twist the casing. Initially it only twisted clockwis...

Re: Door Interior Light Switch thread size?
According to PET there are 3 of 964 613 601 00 per car. As well as it being the same part per side it is the same switch for the luggage compartment light. I just took both my door switches off last week and I did not notice a difference between sides. Someone with more knowledge than me will be abl...

Removal of items from dash
I have stripped most items from the dash of my 911 but two are proving more difficult to remove than I expected. http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af9/graemecobb911/porschedash_zps37403041.jpg On the left is the 2-stage rear window heater pull. It looks to me like the knob screws off (done), follow...

If you don't have the book - http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticle ... -Rekey.htm is the same article as the 101 Project book.
Only fault I see in the article is by my count 5 tumblers with 5 combinations per tumbler gives 3125 options rather than 625.

I note he will accept reasonable offers. Insert the decimal point as above and $17.50 seems reasonable to me.

Re: Door switches
I am also impressed. I think though I'll choose the option of 'passenger instruction' however I have a funny feeling I'll regret that the first time I blow a fuse. Having said that, given where I am with my restoration, if I get to the stage of blowing a fuse I will be quite pleased!
