Re: 1972 RHD 911T Coupe
I've got the car up on axle stands to allow access for repeated treatment of some of the nuts with WD40 fast release penetrant so I thought I would remove the wheels. Someone looks as if they have had a go at removing the wheels already but were probably thwarted by using a 12 faced 19mm socket that...

Car SOS - More 4 at 8pm Sundays
From what I read it looks a new series restoring classic cars for unsuspecting owners. Don't know the full line up for the series but tonight is a Ford Cosworth.
I'll see their attention then see if my wife should apply for my car to be on series 2
Regards

Another though less good value - this one an E and should be viper green... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/911-pre-89/porsche-911e-sportomatic--1972/2363561?isexperiment=true And the advert says 'This car was originally sold new in the UK and can return there tax free.' Re: 1973 911 E RHD - Gemini Blue
Hi Tom It looks a great project. You are lucky with it coming with such a neat collection of spares. I know Porsche Club are visiting Colin's body shop on 14th June but I will miss the chance to see your car as I am otherwise occupied that day. Assuming the car no longer has the paint code plate, a ...

Re: Removing wiring harness
Mick Thanks very much. I should have read your restoration thread first as you clearly state in refitting to thread it from back to front which would have given me the clue for which way to take it out. No time this evening to do the full job but I started by threading it back from the front compart...

Re: Struts..911E 1973
Hi Kieron, PET does not seem to show the collar as available separately but I would recommend giving your local Porsche centre a call. They should be able to advise if it is or not and also confirm if your current ones are correct. The revision number of 35 seems to be the only difference from the p...

Removing wiring harness
Having disconnected all items in the car from the wiring loom it was time to take it out. I disconnected it from the engine compartment and removed the clips at the front of the compartment that keep it neatly in place. I am working on the principle it comes out from the front of the car. Once under...

Re: 912/911 front bumper over riders WANTED
Hi David and Trevor
As I understand it the early ones were chrome only with those on a 72T being chrome with rubber buffer. Even if you did not mind the overriders being non-standard I am confident the SWB and LWB front bumper profiles were different.

71 T Coupe
At least this is not being advertised as a rust free California import...... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-911-T-1971-coupe-matching-numbers-excellent-car-to-restore-/281325165794?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4180495ce2 I do like how they describe it as 'complete AND all there', as if saying t...

Re: 1972 RHD 911T Coupe
I took the fuel tank out. Straightforward to take the filler neck etc off the top. I then wasted time by disconnecting the out and return feeds from the bottom of the tank. After jacking the front of the car up and placing axle stands under the suspension I decided it would be easier to disconnect t...

Re: How do I get paint off plastic
I have seen others recommend brake cleaner (the type that is recommended not to be used on paint), or cellulose thinners but not soaked as it may soften the plastic.
