Hamster is selling my old car!

According to the Daily Mail, Richard Hammond is selling 8 of his classic cars to fund his new TV show about car restoration (COG). Imagine my surprise when I spotted my old Porsche 911T registration TTU283H which I had been told was shipped to Taiwan in a container crate 4 years ago... https://hosti...

Re: Hello...again.

Thanks Bootsy - nice to hear from you. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/w555/JosSkeates1/Hippie_car.jpg Here's a pic from the last owner in the late 1960's - he was a musician from Wyoming and loved his Porsches. He took the 356 back to the family ranch in Western WY and over time partially di...

Hello...again.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking a bit and enjoying reading the great posts. Having been without a Porsche for a while it's great to see DDK going strong and lots of familiar names still posting. For those who don't know me, I bought a 911T, 1970. Had it restored in Utah - drove it to LA and shipped i...

Re: New 1970 911T member - and questions

Any advice on where to start with restoration?: Since you ask... one word of advice, from someone who has been there... From the pics, this is not a local repairs / patching candidate. It needs stripping back to a blasted shell. Floors and sills will be coming out both sides, so it _must_ go on a (...

Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

I'm glad this is on the way to being sorted. I felt very bad for you when you posted the after shipping pics. Horrible moment, I'm sure. Just out of interest, in case it helps others, let me ask: Secondly that the insurers thought damage resulting from seawater getting into the container wasn't cov...

Re: Long Distance Restoration 1970, 911T

Thanks for asking, so heres a bit of an update. The car was laid up at Chris Turners while we waited for Hagerty to send someone to take a look and report to the insurers. The guy they sent seemed very nice, he had never had to deal with anything like this before and this is his report; RESULTANT DA...

Re: Historika

Vimal, if it was purple/maroon colour and parked in the main lot I liked the fact it wasn't restored and both my friends commented on how nice it would be to drive around without worrying about feeling too precious. Agree with the comments above drive it and take your time.
