That is amazing: it was only earlier today I wondered where the total was.

Re: Bye Bye 914........time to sell And now Sold.

Hi Steve, just I know we didn't meet often, but just to say what a pleasure it was and to thank you for the 914 advice and encouragement you gave me during my brief ownership of Tom's old car. Sorry to see you sell, that can't have been an easy call but sometimes things just align and something has ...

No, it's definitely, definitely tin welding Mark. I do it all the time

Nothing like carefully proof reading your work.

I quite like the grey though.

Re: Some weekend Guitar

Tommy Emmanuel is a class act: for such a genius he seems incredibly friendly and down to earth. Lots of backstage videos of him signing fan's guitars and then either playing them or genuinely listening to the fan play, sometimes joining in or giving some hints and tips. To have a talent is one thin...

Re: E10 fuel

... you'd think they'd make more marketing noise about it being ethanol free Double edged sword now: 'Behold, our fuel is demonstrably worse for the environment than our competitors'. :) This isn't the seventies you know :drunken: I imagine they view the current situation, where enthusiasts who car...

Re: E10 fuel

You can apparently DIY test for ethanol if you fancy, or indeed you can wash your fuel. Don't try it indoors though! Take a jam jar, mark it about 10mm up from the bottom. Add water up to the mark, fill rest with the dinosaur juice in the flavour you prefer. Shake well, shake some more. Shake, shake...

Re: RHD conversion to a longhood 911/912

Realistically, if the car's driving, you'd be most unlikely to embark on it. If, as was the case with me, you were starting off with a hopeless dog in 100's of bits with nothing to lose, then yes, possibly. Once you drive a lefty though you quickly get used to it, plus because the whole early 911 th...

Re: Anyone driving an EV?

Recently watched this Harrys Garage video which I found confirmed my thoughts about whether to get an EV or not. Basically if you do short commutes / live in a city its a no brainer. However if you want to drive long distances its a compromise. https://youtu.be/CEyfCcAbtKU Ah good, I watched the fi...

Re: Anyone driving an EV?

New Honda https://youtu.be/FR3VJ35zkcY Such a shame they didn't stick closer to the concept car which looked brilliant. Had it launched with a three door / big wheel option as displayed even I would have started to ponder a PCP to get one on the drive. And I regard £2k as proper money for a daily :...

Re: RHD conversion to a longhood 911/912

I completely agree Graham. As you say, many of these cars are running around perfectly happily donkeys years later. Nevertheless, yours must have been by far one of the better ones at the time. Just as there were some very good quality ones there were some absolute shockers. I saw one either last ye...

Re: My '72 911T

Cheers Barry, Good advice on the spraying, maybe I’ll use a roller and leave the garage door open! I’m not really set up for spraying properly anyway. Yes, that might work: even then rig some fans or wheel it outside. I cannot stress enough how potent this stuff it: there's something very cloying a...
