Bosch 0231 159 008 distributor wanted please.

Hello I am looking for a Bosch distributor for my 911 2.2T 1970. The part number stamped on the body is 0231 159 008. It doesn't appear to have a vacuum advance and looks like it works on centrifugal force for the advance and retard. If anyone has a used distributor or could point me in the right di...

Re: Electronic Ignition. Where to get a good unit?

Yes, i am also worried that some systems will effect the running or reliability, that is why i am interested in what you guys have fitted in the past, i have seen simple electronic systems that bolt straight into the distributor for around £30 but i am a bit weary. All i want to do is replace the po...

Electronic Ignition. Where to get a good unit?

I still have the points system in my 2.2T, but i am keen to fit a more reliable Electronic Ignition System to it. Is there an area i can start looking for a good system, i have seen the units on eBay, but they look cheap, i could be wrong and you guys may say there are a great alternative replacemen...

Finally some sunshine in Cornwall.

Great day in Cornwall for sunshine, plus i seen more than one swallow today, does that mean summer is officially here? Hopefully the sunshine will last long enough so DVLA can pull their finger out and get my car registered before it rains again. I was speaking to a customer today and she said she h...

Re: How Can I Get a Valuation I Can Trust?

LOL my comment was based on distance rather than cultural divide :) By the way who do you use to service and look after your car in Cornwall? Ian. I run and own a garage myself, fixing, servicing and restoring Porsche's for around 10 years now, i'm what you would call the last of the old fashion en...

Re: How Can I Get a Valuation I Can Trust?

Crispin Manners im assuming? Spoke to him on the phone quite a few times over the years but never had the privilege of meeting the guy. Anyone else? It is an exceptional car, wish i could get some photo's up for you. I don't want to fool for the ballpark figure value and hope i don't crash it. Why w...

Re: How Can I Get a Valuation I Can Trust?

Yea that's the trouble, i have been looking on websites, auctions etc, the prices range from £25,000 -£130,000 condition dependent naturally. So it's difficult to get a true valuation for insurance purposes. I really want to be careful and not end up out of pocket if i crash it, i actually want to u...

How Can I Get a Valuation I Can Trust?

I have finally finish my 1970 2.2T, i don't want to sell just yet, but i am interested in a valuation, i am located in West Cornwall, miles away from anywhere but i could travel depending on the distance. I know theses cars are worth a small fortune these days but i would like to get some kind of fi...

Re: New DVLA system for imports

When i got some of the forms through to fill out, one of them said i had to inform these: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/nova/ within 14 days of the vehicle arriving into the UK, but i am fairly sure that if i have a customs number and the parcel has been delivered (so to speak) then the car's VAT or duty i...
