Re: what you up to

Stripping all the mechanical bits off my Beetle so I can start hacking the body to pieces as I start building either a Spyder or Speedster replica. Really needs to make a decision on this bit.

Re: Front Carpet Set - 1987 Carrera

Southbound did the 2 front footwell mats for my 84 Targa. No problem with taking the order and got them within a few weeks - yep, you may have to wait a while.

Re: what car for a 17 year old ?

My middle one last year bought a 72 Beetle, 1k to insure when he had just passed and was 19. No problem getting insurance and worked on the basis that 1k is about the going rate to get started. Then he decided he wanted to eat at Uni so it's now my next project. I'd go for a VW Up as a newish car or...

Re: O/T VW Beetle guidance

I've just taken one off my middle son, he is at uni and it will keep me busy for a while. 2500 should get you one with an MOT but it'll need work. I think the Facebook groups seem to have better cars than you'll find on eBay, etc. But the condition can still vary widely at any given price point. Goo...

Re: Locks and keys

going through the new arrival, i have an ignition key which only works the steering lock. It doesn't operate either door or the glove box. Any suggestions on how to resolve this so everything works on a single key? Do i have to change the barrels or can the barrels be altered so they are all the sa...

Re: Speed with guy martin

+1 on Guy, seems very genuine, warts and all. Some great bits in TT: Closer to the Edge that I am convinced (doesn't take a lot to be honest) were very genuine. I liked the edit in Speed - F1 where, with a few minutes down time, he's off. Not to look at all the tech and laptops, but to have a look a...

Re: Sandblasters in Essex

There is a guy based on Canvey Island who does media blasting, and does bits for Sportwagen. Not sure he would do a shell but might be worth checking. I had some engine bits done by him, liked what he did. He does a lot of bike work I seem to recall.

Re: Top Ginger...

Harris and Jordan to muscle all the others off screen and it should be more watchable. Plus the new 'Presenter in a surprisingly skimpy swimsuit' regular should get people switching on. I just hope Sabine gets that bit. Let's be honest, it's a show with cars in it, so I know I'll watch it. Sent from...

Re: 80's Targas

Targa's rock! No scuttle shake jokes please. I am no expert, but are the wheels 6's and 9's? If yes, I don't think that was ever a standard combination option. FWIW, top seems to be sitting high at the front, although not great pictures. But don't forget with these cars, Targa's rock!! Burgundy inte...

You guys are patient. I've been watching it for 2 days> I can't wait to see what he does when it finally gives out. Oh, and he has some stamina too.
