Vw type 4 / Porsche 914 thermostat bracket

I need the thermostat bracket for the type 4 engine in my camper, suddenly occurred to me these must be used on the Porsche 914 engine as well, so I thought I would post an wanted ad here. Does Anybody have a spare bracket lying around in the garage?

Thanks, Craig.

Re: A big thank you for Mike Bainbridge

I had my box rebuilt by Mike last year - He's brilliant! So far I have not got it back in the car due to new baby and some repair work to the rear seat bases which seemed the logical thing to do with the increased access with the engine and box out. How long is too long to leave a rebuilt box out of...

Re: Steve McQueen 2.2S at Essen

My 911T has worn out holes in the top of the door trims, I love it, it's part of the history of the car. It's where previous owners have spent years driving around California looking cool with their elbow hanging out the window.... It's patina and history, I I think it would be a shame to lose it. I...

Re: Cavity Wax - Options, thoughts, experiences ?

Just to throw another option in, I have had some good results with Bilt-Hamber products. http://www.bilthamber.com/cavity-waxes The dynax S50 is a nice and runny aerosol spray fluid that penetrates seams well then solidifies to a thick waxy substance that stays flexible and in place. The under body ...

Re: Insurance... Multi or single?

I had a conversation with a guy from Admiral yesterday regarding the renewal on my daily. Price was reasonable and I considered accepting but then he quoted for a multicar policy including my wife’s car when it is due to be renewed in August. So a years insurance for mine and cover for hers from Aug...

Re: gearbox mount bushes

Thanks all, Nick, I actually need the engine mounts aswell so there is no need to split a set, I was asking specifically for the gearbox as its a bit confusing looking online whether or not they will fit the 901 mount. Anyway, I will ring the number on your website in the next few days to order a se...

gearbox mount bushes

Does anybody know a source for gearbox mount bushes for a 1970 911 with a 901 box? (not the 915 box mount ones) OEM rubber or PU powerflex etc. It appears they are different to the engine mount bushes on a 901 box and I am struggling to find some.
Thanks, Craig.

Anyone know anything about this book?

Hi everybody, I was given this book recently in return for a favour I did for a friend, I was wandering if anybody knows anything about it? This copy is what I would consider to be extremely good condition, no tears or folds, (crappy picture doesn’t do it justice). I was actually reluctant to take i...

Re: gearbox rebuild help/advice required

Thanks for the input guys, I have thought about a 5 speed upgrade, but as this is the correct box for the car and it still works (kinda!) I want to fix and keep it. When I did the shift linkage/coupling bushes, everything was stripped, cleaned, checked and greased before assembly so I know the gears...

gearbox rebuild help/advice required

I can see a lot of names I remember and a lot of new names on the forums, but overall, I can see that the general friendliness and comradery of DDK is still alive and kicking! I hope some of y...

If all fails, lift the blocks up and turn them over, hopefully the blocks are the same on both sides.
