Re: "La Granny" ST build.

Looks like it's going to be a great build. Is Swampy 2 really beyond saving, though? There can't be that many early RHD 911s left.

Re: Build date from VIN

They'll probably ask you to attend a 'Vehicle Information Check' where some boy in a Hi-Viz will look at the original stamped chassis number and go 'aye, that's fine'. And charge you £150 or something.

Re: O/T Hong Kong

Stay in the Cosmo - it's cheap-ish but boutiquey and not too far from Times Square and its metro. Go up Victoria Peak at night. Spend some quality time down by the waterfront. Eat at Temple Street Night Market. You'll also get some very good copy watches there if that's your bag... Take a decent cam...

Re: 1976 RHD 911 restoration thread

Looks great! Now, please don't ruin it by fitting modern perspex numberplates in that horrible post 2001 typeface. You can get proper ones here: http://www.classicplatesonline.co.uk/plates.asp?utm_source=Adwords&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=%2Bclassic%20%2Bplates%20online&utm_campaign=Plates&...

Re: 72 Hotrod - my new project

Loving this build and can't wait to see it completed! I like it when thoroughly modern things look so right in something so old - those seats are just right but I'm still looking forward to seeing them retrofied. :)

Did you get my PM, by the way?

My favourite is this: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-FSOab4ZI3gg/URFg8PZk2rI/AAAAAAABVLQ/ZrzbOttBeG8/s1024/105_1302021004_0A_0220%2520%252824%2529.jpg It's a mid-00s Zaskar that I built myself with a nice mix of LX and XT. That'd be my wee brother just finishing his first two laps of Strathpuffe...

Re: Blinkin DVLA

I'd never not declare modifications to an insurance company - ever. I think as long as they know the whole spec of your vehicle you'll generally be okay. I try and tell the DVLA as little as possible, what with them being largely incompetent.

Re: Blinkin DVLA

So will I have problems registering my 914? Originally a 1.7, now a 2056cc, but it hasn't been registered in the uk yet? When I come to register it will I have similar issues because all the original documentation will say 1.7? :? Register it as a 1.7, then. I'd maybe try updating the cc later on, ...

Re: Anyone built a Covin before?

Although Covin was founded by an old friend of mine, Tim Cook, (Co...) and Nick Vincent (Vin....), all I will say is that you'll struggle to be taken seriously anywhere. They just don't look right and, in my mind, if you did go down the 'humour' route with graphics etc, you'd probably only make thi...
