Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod
There are these posts here which may help with someone in the same situation, particularly ‘hot wiring the fuel pump via the fuse. I take it that putting the Loctite on the cylinder head temperature sensor does not impede it earthing? https://www.impactbumpers.com/forum/index.php?/topic/37485-32-car...

Just thinking out loud here, I see in the pictures you have a TOAD alarm, so is the immobiliser shot, or not actually working, or did you remove all that gubbins in the rebuild process?

Rear handbrake pads - spring come loose inside the hub or piece of grit in there? What happens if you pull the handbrake on slightly whilst driving?

Re: Tyre sizing?
The middle number is the percentage of the aspect ration of the tyre height, so 185 ’55’ means the height of the tyre is 55% the width of 185mm
185 ’70’ means the height of the tyre is 70% of the width.
So basically the 70 has a taller sidewall height than the 55, so will fill the wheel arch more.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
The two front cars are Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. KKV 394 was Russel Brookes 1981 RAC car, so the picture is probably around that period.
From the flag, the Ulster Rally or Circuit of Ireland about the same time, British Open Rally Championship rounds, think MINTEX were sponsoring it back then?
