Re: Okrasa Special returning to birthplace Nov 4

Hi everyone,

unfortunately I need to postpone taking the Okrasa Special back to Martins VW. Apologies for the late notice on changing the date. I plan to do it in the Spring so hopefully you'll be able to join us then.

Regards
Steve

Okrasa Special returning to birthplace Nov 4

I'm not sure how many of you might want to accept this invitation, but we'll be taking the Okrasa Special back to its birthplace of Martins VW (previously Barnett & Small) to celebrate the car's birth exactly 60 years ago and you're all of course invited. David Small's grandson George is represe...

Re: 356 top cruising speed critically viewed.

Although a race car and therefore noise isn't a primary concern (especially as we're running solid mounts and no carpets!) we're running the 356A Super with Solex P11's flat out for up to three hours at a stretch, never below 50mph and often well over 100. I've seen 135mph on the speedo on a couple ...

Re: 2.0L Cup Round 2 Dijon

Brilliant race report and wonderful photos - just wonderful to get an insiders view on the race series and what it's like to race a 'modern' Porsche with disk brakes! Great effort and looking forward to the next report.... Cheers, Steve

Re: Okrasa Special

Thanks for the kind words guys. And great to see fellow DDK's at Chateau Impney this weekend just gone by. What a fabulous event it is - if you haven't been I highly recommend it because it's a rare combination of great location and venue, relaxed atmosphere, lovely crowd and fabulous cars. And we m...

Hi Nige, glad you like it. More photos to come. No plans to paint it - we’re leaving it ‘alfresco ally’ to slowly mature with age :)

Re: Okrasa Special

Well it was a pretty momentous day yesterday. After 15 months and some 2,000 hours of innovation, craftsmanship and experience, the Okrasa Special rolled out into the English sunshine for the first time as a finished car. To say I was pleased would be a huge understatement. A massive thanks must go ...

Re: Okrasa Special

So we're now into the final stretch. The big push. The last furlong. In what has been an epic journey. So let's start with the easy bit first! The rear window is 4mm perspex as per FIA requirements, but because it's pressurised (the air is being drawn in via the side windows) we need to ensure it do...

Re: Okrasa Special

Yes we were torn too, as CLM is always a great road trip and holiday. I should've mentioned earlier that the car's debut will be at Chateau Impney Hillclimb, 7-8 July, Droitwich Spa (just near Birmingham England). We'll only be running the original Okrasa engine and standard gearbox, so don't expect...
