Re: High revving 3.2: what is needed?
Graham could you fit a 911 shifter on the left hand side ? you could then convert the transmission to a side shift as used in the Porsche 916, there is a kit available from Martin Bott in Germany https://www.bugat5speed.de/en/porsche-cars/special-parts-for-porsche-transmission/103-gearbox-conversion...

Re: 964 C2 - Rolling Resto
Wayne I think I saw some 964 stainless heat exchangers in my shed recently, let me know if they are possibly of use and I will check them out.

Re: Farewell for now...
Thanks for the kind words Wayne, it was always a pleasure working with you with plenty of laughs along the way, I will always remember the rebuilt gearbox (from the US ?) which had one forward and five reverse gears. A 964 C2 would also be my choice for an everyday driver something midway between st...

Re: Norway?
Norway is in EFTA which is in the EEA but not in the European customs union, anything imported from Norway is subject to UK VAT, if you are buying from a company registered for VAT in Norway they should supply to you net of Norwegian VAT. Essentially it is the same as importing from the USA, but wit...

Re: Bolt size for 911T calipers.
The front bolts are M12 x 1.5 which is a fine thread (standard is M12 x 1.75) I'm not sure about the M10 rears, easy to check by trying a standard bolt.

Re: left side rear ali banana arm
Hello Andrew,
I have a few sets, do you have the part number from the casting so I can check it is the right part, I believe there are several variations. Is it the type with the antiroll bar ball or the threaded insert ?

Re: What happened to this strange 59 Convertible D ?
Of course, I woke up with the name Gordon in my head, no surname though, he had a 356 Cabriolet, lived in the Godalming/Oxshott area.

Re: What happened to this strange 59 Convertible D ?
Barry called it the Unconvertible D , it was sold to a lady called Stacey Ramsey if I recall correctly, possibly an actress/minor celebrity ? Lived in Kensington and had a boyfriend partner who also had a 356, possibly an author ? It was painted a pale metallic blue with matching interior, the inter...

Re: 73T: Indicator mystery
Graham, from your last post I suspect you may have the arrow bulb holders incorrectly wired. Firstly they should be insulated bulb holders and they are independent of the tach, they should still work when pulled out, the left hand should have a black wire with white trace and a blue/white wire and t...

Re: Best DIY Carpet adhesive?
I bought a can of this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-HIGH-TEMPERATURE-CONTACT-ADHESIVE-GLUE-5ltr-/370165391928? nearly two years ago and it has been the best I have used and is still liquid. A tip I was given by a time served upholsterer is to give your brush a haircut and keep it immersed i...
