Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971
Yes I turned it around Wayne. Will try to get back to some sort of chronological order now. Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971
Then there was that little detail of a low frequency noice from the freshly rebuilt engine at cold idle. Engine builder agreed to take a look at it but it meant I had to bring it there, a 700 or so km return trip, plus the flights from Switzerland to Sweden that is... And yes before anyone mentions ...

Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971
Got exited and jumped directly to (nearly) present in the last posts, here’s a shot of how the first test drive ended... turned out to be a worn ignition switch which took a while to find as it was highly intermittent.

Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971
Richard, thanks and thanks for sorting the photo, mind explaining that I did wrong? I've used Photobucket previously but has since switched to proper hosting services which I obviously don't master yet :-) Anyhow, a few more shots for your entertainment are awaiting. Gary, Richard's entertainment is...

Re: Winter refresh 2.2T 1971
As usual life's got in the way with house building, setting up a new company etc. but now finally have some time for a long overdue update. Car was finally finished around autumn 2017, I'm using the term finished loosely here as will become apparent during upcoming updates. Anyhow, I only collected ...

Graham,
Here's a slightly cheaper alternative to the KK puck, I'm not saying its 100% like the original but I got one years ago and am very happy with https://www.early911sregistry.org/forum ... on-replica

Re: The Ice St Moritz
I was looking fwd to this and had booked a couple of nights at an overpriced hotel, must say I was really surprised learning that the event was cancelled by the Swiss government, can’t be bothered driving up there and of course no refund from the hotel... oh well they’ll be other events this year.

Re: Torsion tube
A few years ago Sportwagon Eckert in Germany were advertising new torsion tubes. Not sure if they still have them. Probably best to email them as their website is hopeless. There are also a couple of threads on Pelican which describe a method of removing a torsion bar tube without totally restoring...
