Re: Full Engine Management. Twin plug, ITB. EFI

I have battled through this game in a different manner, the expensive one which worked out well in the end, but was in places very hard going due to using suppliers in the USA. My engine is a 3.2 flat 6 with the following: 10.5:1 CR, carrillo rods and hardware, Kent Cams GE60 grind cams, stock head...

Re: Full Engine Management. Twin plug, ITB. EFI

You might want to take a look at Henry Schmidt's reply to my post on Pelican. Until his reply, I was planning on using this piston crank combination. https://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=1164175 That doesn't mean I've changed my mind yet but he knows a bit about building these engines s...

Full Engine Management. Twin plug, ITB. EFI

Think out loud here. Having got the green meanie on the road and running. Kinda semi happy with it and having some thoughts. The car is a 1969 912 shell with a 911 engine. The engine is a 2.2e (counter weighted crank, e heads refurbished etc),with Solex cams running Weber carbs. The barrels and pist...

Re: Speedo Not Working

It wont be the speedo as that is confirmed as working. Its the torque going through the length of spring wire (which the speedo cable is made of) along its length with dirt/rust/dried grease in the cable sheave combined with a new weak spot of it being welded together all causing binding/tension spo...

Re: Speedo Not Working

Before you change anything how about removing the Speedo and turning the input with a drill to see if it's the Speedo? Try disconnecting both sides of the cable and have someone carefully twist the gearbox side and see if the other end moves? Sent from my 22011119UY using Tapatalk Have you ever tri...

Re: Speedo Not Working

I had to change my 69 speedo cable just recently. TWICE. Both ends had crimped fittings so had to change the whole cable. Took the passenger seat out along with the gearstick handbrake and tunnel cover for access. Getting it through the tunnel was the easy part. Getting to the speedo and connecting ...

Re: Under cover Resto

Put the 123 distributor on in the first instance. Your distributor may be hanging up or to advanced. The sliding pads fall apart for fun. I could never get a decent idle until I put the 123 on and timed it at 5 degrees. The advance was spot on.

Re: Opinions on possible repair please

SWB lights are boxed into the body/wing so don’t get the weather and road rash as much.
The US lights can be converted to euro spec quite easily

Looking good!
Don’t forget the main earth strap. It can cause a lot of consternation!
Don’t ask me how I know!
