What are you using to cut your welds back with - it looks like a flap disc? Have you tried the sanding discs with a backing pad, makes for a very controlled finish. I might be mistaken but I think I’d turn the power up a bit on the MIG perhaps

I’m also spending maybe £3000 on a big underground rainwater tank for flushing the bogs and watering the garden. Mains water is so madly cheap payback on that is probably more like 50 years. I put one of these in too! Obscene how little water costs, I havent plumbed mine into the house but will use...
