Re: 356 big European Trip

A cruise on the Rhine today. Followed by a cable car ride up to the Fortress. The restaurant we eat lunch at had water marks showing the high of the Rhine. Whixh was, in recent history 1993. After using Google translate it appears that was the building's purpose. Originally a crane but now a level h...

Re: 356 big European Trip

4 uneventful hours of motoring and we arrived at Schloss Stolzenfels. I know how interested Graham is with MPG. I think I got about 200 miles on 27l/6 gallons. I'm not sure I measured that correctly because it implies 33mpg! I will check and report back. The smooth roads certainly help. Like went we...

Re: 356 big European Trip

We are off and on the Harwich Ferry. The adventure started 10mins from home. The oil pressure light started flashing but the gauge said I had lots of pressure. I pulled off and swear a lot fearing the worst. However, when I opened the engine bay I was reminded of a temporary fit I had forgotten abou...

Yes. Just drop one onto the dirt and don't take it straight on. I've never had an issue but some of the lower buses make a noise!

Re: tuning a 911 with PMO Carbs

I have a hot 3.2 on big PMO 50mm carbs, twin plug etc. For the final tune I used a very local RR who deal with about everything 4 wheeled, modern to classics. They are in Dudley West Midlands, so no good for you. Bainbridge would be a great choice i think. Many are put off by PMO carbs, but one the...

There is a village hall near me we could rent for a few hours. Some parking outside for vendors and room inside? Just off Junction 18 M1

Re: Using a snap-on timing light

I would put a tiny bit of grease on the shaft that opens/closes the points and a couple of drops of oil on mechanism. That might help. As for someone to rebuild it. The chap I used is in the states. Hopefully someone will come along with a suggestion. They certainly need a testing machine Sent from ...
