Re: Goodwood Revival 2024
I’ve been for the last ten years. My recommendations would be: 1. Spend Friday walking round and seeing stuff. You’ll want to watch the racing on Saturday and Sunday. 2. I would (and do) get grandstand tickets for the Sat and Sunday. The racing is brilliant - fantastic cars racing for all they’re wo...

Re: Idle return springs for 71 MFI car
I would speak to Mike Burgess, if he's not too far away - Somerset - he wrote the book on MFI! Also, he did a fantastic job with my car - quick and v methodical.

Re: The shite ownership cycle
If Mike Burgess is still doing these, then I'd recommend him - he did a great job on my 911E and it's still happily pulling like a train through the rev range and is happy operating at low revs/slow speeds which it really wasn't before. He wrote the book and he's a nice chap. http://www.911mfi.com/7...

Thank you both. I’ll be taking the 911 then. I have bad memories of being towed out the year it snowed (not in the 911 then either).

Question re dealer liability
A friend of mine bought a car around 18 months ago. It's not a 911, but the analogy would be that the car was described as a 911L with a 901/06 (hope that's right) series engine. No problems noticed when buying, and the car has a certificate with chassis no. and a 901/06 engine no. He has recently h...

Re: Rear Wiper Yay or Nay
I was told the other day that mine probably had one fitted when new. Can't pretend that I've ever thought I'd be better off with one.
Mine also did have a sun roof that no longer exists (well - some of it probably does exist under the headlining). Probably too expensive to reverse now!

Re: Learner driver..insurance..commuter car - suggestions pl
We bought an VW Up for the kids to learn in. Despite the obvious lack of power, it's a really comfortable, practical car. I've driven it to Cornwall and back + a big trip around the country to look at TR5s when I was shopping for one. All good - and this is from someone who is generally frustrated w...

Seat refurbishment
I’m thinking that I ought to refurb my v soggy seats (car obviously). Is one of the commercially available kits the way to go? I’m presuming so. Anyone with any views on who does the best seat refurb kit (Rose, Lakewell, Design 911, others?)? How easy are these to fit? Thanks. Feel free to pm if you...
