Re: MFI expert needed

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. Especially, those who suggested injectors, got them tested, all shot, so new injectors seem to have solved the problem and (touch wood) car now running smoothly.

Re: Porsche at the emissions game?

There are some very sharp practices going on to make us buy certain technology. A colleague of mine works on automotive 'infotainment' e.g. radio, sat nav etc. There is a software filter that is applied to the FM radio to make it sound crap compared to the DAB. I'm not kidding. Why would car manufa...

Re: MFI expert needed

Thinking aloud.... Tower Bridge Diesels tell me that the pump is fine Assuming they reached that conclusion by running it on a test rig (which seems likely, sure they have one), I doubt you'd get a different answer taking the pump to someone else. At least, it's probably not the next thing to try i...

Re: What does being a member of the GRRC get you?

According to today's email from Lord March, there's a 5 year waiting list (I think I waited a month or so back in the day). They're about to launch a new tier of membership for those on the wait list. I suppose I should say good luck to him!

Re: MFI expert needed

Thank you all for your input. I don't think it's the pump - Tower Bridge Diesels reset it to factory spec a while back and were happy with it. Injectors may be the answer. I do have a copy of "Check Measure Adjust". I think I need someone who truly understands the system, otherwise I and o...

Re: MFI expert needed

Someone to take the car to. Nick thought that the cam in the MFI pump was worn and therefore didn't exactly match the engine cam. I don't think that's the case as the car is perfect when warming up and just warm, throughout the rev range, but when hot is "lumpy". I need someone who lives a...

MFI expert needed

You guys kindly provided me with useful advice about where to take the car for engine rebuild - went to Redtek and very happy with their work. I need similar expert input into my MFI. Car starts fine and when just warm runs perfectly (other than a slightly high tickover), but when the car gets prope...

Re: I need a helmet....

You might just check whether you're ok with open face on the circuits that you wish to drive. Goodwood is ok, but I thinks Brands is not etc. Otherwise, I know nothing. Mine is open face, because it's far more comfortable - and I'm not doing serious racing etc. The link above looks good to me!

Re: Goodwood MM tickets wanted

I enjoyed this much better than last year. Last year seemed to be all crashes and safety cars and very little actual racing. This year saw some fantastic and very close races. Bloody freezing though and they really should ditch all that house point nonsense!

Re: What does being a member of the GRRC get you?

You do get a lot of "guff" that you don't really want and all costs money. And in reality what you are getting is the opportunity to spend even more money. What you get that I think has value is: 2 ticket and grandstand discounts for the Revival (not sure about the Member's Meeting and I d...

Long 911S

At the Earls Court exhibition at the Goodwood Revival, on the Porsche stand, is a long 911S. TBH I hadn't noticed that it was long before my daughter pointed it out. A proper 4 seater. It has the external oil filler cap and the interior looks like an early 70's car. The Porsche girl insisted that it...

MFI

My 1969 911e has this issue. The car starts fine on the hand throttle and once started it warms up reasonably quickly and I can shut down the hand throttle within 5 mins or less. At that point the car runs perfectly. Once it gets properly hot though, it's less happy at lower revs. The tick over tick...
