Re: Border Reivers Silver 2.4S

Is the price common knowledge or would it be impolite to answer ?

Re: 996 GT2 or GT3 Mk1

Unless you choose brakes very carefully with the 996 GT3 MkI (performance friction discs and pads ?), they are simply not good enough. If for this reason only, unless a collectible, the MkII is the better car. There, I've said it. GT2 -- the 996 GT2 engine is a terribly laggy thing -- even if Porsch...

Re: 2L enigne to tune or replace... that is the question

My 2p, because you are where you are. Mike's advice was very good, in general buy the car that is closest to what you want, and if you wish, accepting that it may take it away from the prized standard specification. take what you want and pay for it. Whilst building a something into something differ...

Re: Selling a 911S...

If you have really decided to sell, it would be great to see a specification ... As for value ... a private price is lower than a dealer price, but some people like buying privately. I personally am very happy with buying privately, but a wodge a (of --- sorry !) great reading is always re-assuring !!

Re: '74 Carrera RHD - Anyone here get it?

But did they all have the snorkel type headlamp washers ?

I only ask because mine hasn't --- and I then found a red Targa with reg number 2 removed from mine --- that was exactly the same.

So both repaired or restored wrong ??

Re: '74 Carrera RHD - Anyone here get it?

This looks to me like an OMG where do we start project. Of course the start is to find just how bad it is --- bearing in mind that a Red '75 Targa which although bodily "made good" and mechanically sound, sold as a comple roadworthy project for £27k ish ... Is the only logical answer to la...

Re: Interesting Take on 911s

It is not entirely without foundation. How many early cars had replacement engines ? Quite a lot. The Mag cases in 3R / 5R and 7R versions did need time-certing and line boring due to pulled studs, the valve guides did often need replacing within 40,000 miles of new, the cam chain tensioners have no...

Re: '74 911/83 2.7 LHD

It's no one dealer Jason .. and prices are free for all to see. The market is the market --- but I will agree that a very pretty '73RS Touring seems very expensive at over £300k --- no matter how good it is. €85k in the current climate does not by comparison, seem so high. There were fewer 2.7 Carer...
