Re: The Great Big DDK Meet of 2024!!!

Can I be +1 please Spit? - Trish has fond memories of the DDK flat 4 drives and wants to come along too. Here’s hoping there’ll be some 356’s and 914’s?

Re: The Great Big DDK Meet of 2024!!!

Great work Spit and Clive - while I’ve been in Germany seeing the Frazer Nash safely on the transporter (arrives tomorrow[emoji1696] [emoji1696]) you’ve really pulled this thing together. And Megaphonics has always been my first choice of the events - it was great last year. I can come aircooled now...

Re: Frazer Nash/BMW 319

My cousin Tony and I left for Germany on Monday and yesterday we arrived in Greven to see the Frazer Nash/BMW for the first time, and get it loaded on the transporter. That first glimpse as Wolfgang Klinke opened his garage doors was captivating, the day that dog eared photos became reality. https:/...

Thanks Jason. I really don’t know quite what I’ll think when I see it in the flesh for the first time, but splendid is probably the right word. It’s a totally different era of motoring for me!

Thanks Andy. It certainly was unexpected. I still have to pinch myself to even imagine it’s true.

Re: Frazer Nash/BMW 319

Yeah, top story Jeremy. Great way to connect with your Dad and rare enough to open doors to all sorts of interesting events. I hope they give you the original reg number Thanks Hugo. It’s strange to have bought a car I’ve never driven, but hey, it’ll be an emotional journey for all sorts of reasons...

Re: Frazer Nash/BMW 319

A few weeks after hearing that the owner didn’t want to sell the Monterey BMW 319, I found I still had a growing desire to experience that type of motoring, and I went back over my past emails. It was 9 years since I’d been given the name of the guy in Germany who’d supposedly restored my father’s c...

He was great, and he entirely understood my quest. In the car world you can make a lot of true acquaintances. I let him know what I’d eventually found out and he was grateful for that.

Re: Frazer Nash/BMW 319

The car was still with the agents who consigned it onto Bring a Trailer - Mohr Imports in Monterey, where the really good pictures were shot presumably. Not having bid in the auction I was nervous they wouldn’t talk to me - but at least I got this response https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240323/a...

Re: Frazer Nash/BMW 319

One way and another. By googling combinations of German ‘Counts’ and BMW’s and god knows what I suddenly hit upon what could be a link. Wiki again “ In 1984, Christian Conzendorf-Mattner accompanied by Dennis Greenslade covered the route from Land's End to John o'Groats-there and back non-stop other...
