Re: 356 Super 90 engine help needed
Hi Graham. I am still looking for parts, if you have a cam please let me know. I must admit, I haven't checked the crank/bearings to see if it has been ground, a soft crank would go that way very quickly I suspect. I have decided to rebuild it properly with a new crank and oil pump gears, too many u...

Re: 356 Super 90 engine help needed
Thanks chaps. I had a chap come and take a look at the carnage today, he has built most of the 356's in Singapore so he knows a few things about them. He took a look at the copper base gasket and told me that a super 90 engine should have a shim under the cylinder to reduce the compression and make ...

Re: 356 Super 90 engine help needed
Thanks Steve.
I did wonder if an oil pressure gauge would be a good thing or just make you paranoid. I like your idea about an aluminium oil cooler as it's pretty damn hot in Singapore, I'll check that out!

Re: 356 Super 90 engine help needed
Thanks Roy. I was rather dissapointed and I think you are probably correct saying that the top end was all they worked on. The oil was clean when drained but the magnet was completely covered in very fine metal particles. When I installed the engine before starting it I cranked it with no plugs in t...

356 Super 90 engine help needed
Hi everyone. I have posted in the wanted section for 356 Sper 90 engine parts needed but just wanted to share my experience here and see if any of the 356 gurus can shed some light on what happened to my engine. I know 911's intimately as they are my business but I'm completely green regarding 356's...

Re: What 911 6 pot distributor is this please?
Graham. I had exactly the same problem as you and modified the mounting plate to make it fit. You just need to make sure that one of the trigger poles (which you can't see) is in line with the trigger when the rotor is pointing towards the HT lead contact inside the cap, if you see what I mean. Othe...

2nd in line for the thermostat please.
Although my location is Singapore I spend a lot of time in the Worcs area as I live near Redditch.
Not that that makes any difference.
Cheers.
