Does your system use the original crank position sensor or an aftermarket one on a toothed wheel? Any chance either bracket could be damaged and the distance incorrect so not giving a signal to the ECU?

One other thought - isn’t it the cylinder head sensor that you loctited in? Any chance of contamination on the tip of the sensor?

If the 3.2 is the same as the 964 it is not so easy to identify the wires in that connector block by colour as one of the sensors is a 993 part and changed colour. Good progress - that alternator wiring is always a bit tight in the shroud - I changed the alternator in situ a couple of times on the 914/6 and it was not fun, and the earth that goes on the case is normally pretty short so doesn’t allow much wriggle room.
