Good progress - that alternator wiring is always a bit tight in the shroud - I changed the alternator in situ a couple of times on the 914/6 and it was not fun, and the earth that goes on the case is normally pretty short so doesn’t allow much wriggle room.

Good work Mark. I would order some high temp loctite to set the stud in place. It’s expensive stuff, so if you have no other use for it I prob have enough left to sort your stud if it helps.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day

It’s a great pic. I am trying to g to make out all the cars in the Andrew’s fleet - clearly Sunbeams and Mantas as you would expect, a Chevette HSR at the back but what is that in front of it? Looks like an Audi Quattro?

No worries - they do loads of modular stuff, really neat if you are not trying to keep OE. It makes doing all this kind of stuff really easy, and despite Grahams hatred of electrics, quite enjoyable to do. They are local to us too, but the mail order is spot on. You can get thin wall cable too, so y...

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

I would probably fit a small single or twin fuse to the side of the main box - vehicle wiring products do lots of neat little things like that, and you can just power it with a hot feed

Great work

Those clips are not dissimilar to those used on the fuel lines of a 986 / Boxster so looks very factory!

Great thread Brendan. Some great shots there - the car looks totally different at Bo’ness, with the different wheels and ride height.

All the best for your retirement

Re: Project Blue Book

Looks cool

The amp will generate a lot of heat in a closed box though won’t it? Might hit the thermal cut off and cut out on you, and you know that will always happen when you are in the middle of LFO…..
