924 5 cylinder 07k

I have a confession to make I am going water cooled. Over recent months I have been drifting off into the 07k swaps instead of DDK early 911 stuff. I have always held a soft spot for the G Nose 240Z, but not the L Series engine and the later iteration of the Nissan RB 2.5 turbo, well they don't like...

Re: Check your pipes

I was under the impression that 105 octane works do nothing unless your engine was set up for it? Yes, there is no knock sensor integrated into the early fuel injected Porsches. Pulsed injection systems (simple EFI - no ignition control) D-Jetronic - 914E L-Jetronic - air flow meter - 914, 928 LH-J...

Re: Check your pipes

Anyone know the situation with fuel in Europe? The Super unleaded 98 or 95 E5 normally has no more than 5% ethanol. But its broadly the main high grade fuel available. There are some exceptions, like in Estonia and UK with companies that have ethanol free. But normally I assume that E5 high octane ...

Re: Check your pipes

I would recommend a trip to your local Lawnmower or Chainsaw dealer and buying a 5lt bottle of non ethanol petrol. https://lawn-mower.co.uk/product/aspen-4-5-litre-four-stroke-fuel/ You can get larger amounts, but if you are storing a car over winter or starting it then this is a good priming fuel a...

Re: Got a spare $11,500,000?

It could take you a week to value all that! Well these are the best photos of it. I would be surprised if every part is a winner so to speak. This will be an insurance estimate of how much it would cost to replace. Is every sun kissed Targa top from California in the same shape as one on ebay that ...

Re: Harry’s garage update - junk ‘genuine’ parts

I agree that you could bemoan the parts manufacturers. But I get the feeling there are people leaning into this than finding a solution, Harrys Espada has been at Ians since October. This is why places have a dyno, so they can run a car and tune it, rather than a gingerly drive around the airport bo...

Re: Harry's Garage, Lancia Fulvia Zagato 1600 video

It has been interesting seeing the comments on this, especially regarding the cost. From my perspective the fact that they essentially remade a Zagato body shell to me seems pretty fair given that it is better than the original. I find it odd that if this was a '57 zagato 356, no one would raise an ...

Re: Porsche ranked least reliable car

I haven’t read it but has this been biased by all the issues with the Taycan? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk From the article : "The data represents only cars that are outside their manufacturer warranties, meaning the minimum age for the sample is three years. The maximum age for cars inc...

Re: Has ebay uk market place changed ?

It is good to see Bootsy grouping the advertisers of the forum in one place. This was always a failure of magazines. You read an article about a car or a see an advert about a service, such as Classic Retrofit 964/993 hvac suitcase rebuilding. But then you can't find it unless you physically thumb t...

Re: Has ebay uk market place changed ?

The Bring a Tailor, Collecting Conartists, Silverspoon and other Classic car online auction have moved into the Ebay business zone of the worldwide platform. Ebay has missed the boat with this as it is up to the seller, rather than a company wanting to filter out shenanigans for its own reputation. ...
