Re: Exhaust\Engine Popping
Hi Mike, I went out in the car today and found the following. At 70 mph there is no popping noise but when you take your foot off the throttle sometimes you do get a large back fire. Driving at 30mph with you foot steady on the gas it does start popping. At a stand still at a few thousands revs it p...

Exhaust\Engine Popping
Hi, On my 2.4 911T the exhaust \ engine would pop at low/high revs, I took it to a garage and said the valves needed adjusting, as they were no closing properly. This was done and it ticks over now fine and at low revs it's great, but the popping comes back again at anything over 3300 Revs. Any idea...

Re: Hi from me
Thanks for the comments. The car was restored in the 80's and came runner in its class at VW action in 1986. In 1987 the car had done ~116000 miles, today it has ~118000, so only 3000 since 87. I'll post some more history after I have read through the folder of receipts, MOT's and documentation I ha...

Hi from me
Hi, My name is Mike and I have just bought a 1973 RHD 911T. I got it on Friday and by Saturday it was on the back of a transporter because the clutch cable came off the clutch arm :( I've had a good few VW's in my time and currently own a Beetle, but always wanted a 911. I've been looking for a good...

Re: 1973 911T RHD Door Mirror - Rectangle or Round
LHD US-spec '72/'73 911 models were equipped with the smaller rectangular mirror whereas RHD UK-spec cars came with the round Durant mirror (as had been fitted from '68) - there were no original righthand smaller rectangular mirrors made (round Durants can be fitted on either side). Thanks for the ...

1973 911T RHD Door Mirror - Rectangle or Round
Hi, I have a 1973 RHD 911T that has the round Durant style mirror on the drivers door. I'm not sure if it should be rectangle or round, as I thought 1973 changed to the rectangle style. I've looked at loads of pictures and can see 1973 LHD cars have rectangle but the UK RHD cars have the round style...

Re: Wanted 911S Gauges
Sorry Mike - I can't help with your search but this is another good question that I've been meaning to ask for ages !! How difficult is it to retro fit the S gauges to a non-S car? Are all the necessary circuits in place etc? I'm sure there isn't a required Sender on my oil tank for example.... :? ...

Wanted 911S Gauges
I have a 1973 911T and I would like to install 911S gauges. Does anyone have any for sale. The petrol\oil level gauge and the Oil Temp / Oil Pressure gauge.
They look like this:
