Re: 3 irritating things...1973T
Re item #1, ii had a similar noise on start up in my 3.2 Carrera some time ago. It turned out to be the oil filter. I replaced it with a Mahle one and the noise stopped. Apparently it was to do with the bypass valve inside the filter.

Re: Restoring a buckled Fuchs
These guys did a bent Fuchs rim off my 3.2 Carrera a while ago with no problems. The damage was worse than the photos. I can't remember the cost but it was not silly.

Re: MFI fuel lines and restrictor to tank
The 1.5mm restriction is built into the return side of the fuel console. It is there to produce the 12-ish psi pressure required in the supply system.

It came out of a 935 I was restoring a few years back. It couldn’t be used anymore as Halon was banned by then. Cheers Sent from my...

Le mans Classic cancelled this year.
As expected I have just heard from Peter Auto that Le Mans Classic has been cancelled for this year. It will go ahead next year on the 1,2,3,4 July 2021.
Also Spa Classic is cancelled. It will not be run later on this year.
This has obviously been on the cards for some time.
Keep well!
Cheers

Re: A 3.2 which will run 8,000 rpm?
I think you already know that the only real solution to your gearing problems is to install a Hewland FGC with all the ratio options that offers plus the opportunity to make clutchless up shifts. The issue in not the motor, it is the gearing.

Re: 7.25" (184mm) Sintered Race Clutch Question
Many moons ago I wanted to use a paddle clutch in my race Ultima. I had an ex Mangusta ZF box with a very unusual input shaft spline. I had to get 2 hubs made which I then sent to AP who fitted them to the new plates with no issues. I suggest that you ask them if they can do the same for you.

Re: leaking fuel tank connection
I think you will find that one of the mating surfaces is slightly damaged/dented so whatever washer you use will not work correctly. Hopefully it is the fitting that has the issue and not the tank.
