Re: 1958 Porsche 356A
Yes, thank you. Mike kindly provided that. Unfortunately, the AFN archive tends to list the chassis number and engine number but not the original registration plate. AFN, as the official importer, would sell the cars to dealers around the country and those dealers would then apply to register the ca...

Re: 1958 Porsche 356A
Yes, thank you. I'm active on the 356 Registry. The VIN wasn't on the registry database until I added it.

1958 Porsche 356A
So.... first post for a long time ! I've decided to finally undertake some research on my 1958 RHD 356A that has been sitting unrestored in my garage for the last ten years. This is a long shot but does anyone know of a silver car that was sold from AFN by Croall & Croall, an Edinburgh dealer, i...

Anyone know this original 1958 RHD 356A
After ten years of ownership, I'm embarking on the restoration of my 1958 RHD 356A. I brought it back to the UK in 2008 after it had spent some time living in the United States. Unfortunately it managed to do its rusting before it left these shores. It was sold by AFN back in the day. Originally sil...

Re: Porsche 911 2.2S original aluminium rear engine cover
My 68/69 (transition year) LWB LHD T has an aluminium engine lid. No evidence it was added later (why would you !).

What's my distributor !
I've decided to upgrade from points to a pertronix ignition system. My only problem is that I'm not sure what the distributor part no. is. It's a bosch distributor that has replaced the original marelli. I can't upload images of my distributor. Could someone help if I email the pictures ? Best, Garf...

Re: Help ! points burning out and closing up !
Hi,
Thanks for all the advice.
Year of manufacture was 1968 (although it is the 69 model). I actually don't think I have CDI. It may be that I bought a condenser for the CDI model which may explain my problems.
Does that sound right ?
Best,
Garfield

Help ! points burning out and closing up !
My 1969 911T is burning its points out.
Having replaced the coil, points and condenser, I'm thinking I may have the wrong condenser.
I've got a Bosch distributor which I think was a replacement for the original marelli.
What's the correct part number for he condensor !
Thank you

Re: Porsche COA
I had exactly the same problem. 1969 911T (YOM 1968) - The COA said that the interior was brown, it was clearly always black. I've emailed Porsche three times and had no response (although I know that the emails have been read as I set read receipts). Grateful for a contact address of someone at Por...

1969 (LWB) Porsche 911T - Recommended Spark Plugs ?
Would be grateful for views on the best plugs to use. Porsche PET lists a few part codes. Year of manufacture is 1968 but the car is fitted with an upgraded bosch distributor.
Thank you !
