did you ever think of just putting the POR 15 directly onto the metal, doing without the metal ready treatment ?
I think I'll do a bit of a test but I would have thought that their own brand thinners should be fine with the POR 15 ??

I only listed it as I am watching with some amusement, if it gets to anywhere near his asking price I'm off to the pub to celebrate, as it means what I paid for my 74 carrera (now stripped, awaiting funds to send off to a body shop) was worth it... !!:lol:

hi all
according to my bently manual, to remove the rear wheel hubs I need porsche tool P297, or other suitable drift
at £60 from porsche thats a bit expensive, does anyone know if a cheaper tool or other supplier could do the job

david partial success, I bought one of the simple forked type splitters from halfords and with a bit of penetrating oil and a few hefy blows both the axles came free for what its worth it seemed to be better to leave the assembly on the car to limit the number of bits to have to hold whilst weilding...

david at the moment all the strut and torsion assembly is still on the car, as I thought it might be better to keep as much of the assembly clamped in place whilst I hit things :shock: , mind you as soon as I take it off, then when its upside down I can soak the bits properly, so i think I'll do tha...
