hi enclose a couple of pictures, just to prove I am doing something, albeit slowly.......:lol: also shows a trolley I had made up whkch will allow it to travell to bodyshop, made of 50mm tubing and wheels from screwfix it was £230 of which £80 was the wheels, rated at 250kg each grey paint is the PO...

did you ever think of just putting the POR 15 directly onto the metal, doing without the metal ready treatment ?

I think I'll do a bit of a test but I would have thought that their own brand thinners should be fine with the POR 15 ?? :?

in a state of deliberation here and wondered if anyone has any opinions about this subject am in the process of stripping the car of its underbody protection and want to make sure that I replace with the best and most durable protection, as i intend to keep the car simply speaking which is the best,...

I only listed it as I am watching with some amusement, if it gets to anywhere near his asking price I'm off to the pub to celebrate, as it means what I paid for my 74 carrera (now stripped, awaiting funds to send off to a body shop) was worth it... !!:lol:

hasaad when I did mine the other month I jacked the car up by placing the jack under the engine (as per pelican), once it was at max extenison I placed axle stands under the rear torsion bars this as it turns out was no way high enough, so as i have a bunch of dense concrete blocks in the garage, I ...

hi all

according to my bently manual, to remove the rear wheel hubs I need porsche tool P297, or other suitable drift

at £60 from porsche thats a bit expensive, does anyone know if a cheaper tool or other supplier could do the job

thanks for that, just to confirm then the torsion bars have to come out of the front hole....its just that the bentley manual says pull torsion out from rear of car, but there again it is written for an SC........?

don't have a copper hamer so I'll try a bit of wood !

david partial success, I bought one of the simple forked type splitters from halfords and with a bit of penetrating oil and a few hefy blows both the axles came free for what its worth it seemed to be better to leave the assembly on the car to limit the number of bits to have to hold whilst weilding...

david at the moment all the strut and torsion assembly is still on the car, as I thought it might be better to keep as much of the assembly clamped in place whilst I hit things :shock: , mind you as soon as I take it off, then when its upside down I can soak the bits properly, so i think I'll do tha...
