Re: 1965 RHD 911 restoration started

Lets have another go. My original reply was to Keith being somewhat tongue in cheek. I started the thread with a tempting text preamble. (is that how you spell it?) These journalists always want to pack in the piccies so they don't have to write so much. But, I suppose a thousand words don't s...

Re: 1965 RHD 911 restoration started

Hmm, I wrote some more and posted pictures but nothing seems to have happened.
This is not the first time I have replied to someone or made a comment and nothing has happened.
Has anyone else had the same experience?
Is there any way I can check what I have sent?

Re: 1965 Porsche 912 Restoration

Superb work Jesse, I am really encoraged with what you have done. Especially it is good to see the Golf Blue on the car. Mine was the same but here are only very small ares left under the das which show the colour. Can't wait to se the body. Ian ____________________________ 1965 RHD 911 2001 3.2 Box...

1965 RHD 911 restoration started

Hi Everyone, I don't think I ever 'officially' introduced myself but I have owned 6 Porsches over the last 40 something years. I started with a 356A then a 356SC before a '69S 911. Then came two more 911s and more recently a 2001 3.2 Boxster. This thread is to do with one of the 911s and as the titl...

Re: Greetings from Derbyshire and on Twitter @porschesauce

Welcome Paul, I escaped from Derbyshire some 40 years ago and settled in Scotland, inland from Aberdeen - there's yet another 250 miles of fantastic driving roads North of here. I seem to remember we used to speak of Derbyshire as 'a little Scotland in England'. However, when I lived there there wer...

Re: Floor pan discs

I seem to remember reading that these were part of the draining process post dipping. On early cars they always remained part of the floorpan, being attached at front side only. The 'flap was then closed and sealed with mastic and then the felt went on top and underseal underneath. Later cars did no...

Thanks Bootsy, I have reported it.
I wonder how many of these bogus ads actually make the dishonest advertiser money?
I guess we'll never know.

Re: Thank heavens my engine was flooded...

That's a real bummer Keith. Who DO you trust these days. Even if he THOUGHT it was really strong then if he did'nt KNOW what it was like then it should not have been sold as such.
Look forward to seeing how you get on.
Good Luck

Re: Rear Window Trim

With reference to the paint tag rivets, I eased mine out by carefully pushing a Stanley blade under each side of the tag. All four came out relitively easily working bit by bit. They seem to be spirally grouved to make them 'lock' into place. Great if it works for you (and you can use them again). I...
