It's been lowered slightly otherwise no modifications. As far as I know it is not numbers matching. Car is very solid, a ...

Re: Le Mans Classic 3-5 July 2020

Count me in for 2020, really enjoyed last year but would be better to travel and stay with the DDK brigade. Will probably take the camper again though it was blooming hot last year.

Porsche child seat

IMG_1532.JPG I bought this seat when I had my 996 back in 2003. It's a genuine Porsche accessories seat. It needs a good clean and the squab foam is cracked but works fine. I cannot attest to the safety qualities. I'm going to chuck it unless it is of use to anyone - so free to collector (Ascot SL5)

SWB LH Wing

I bought this as wall art but realistically I won't get around to sorting it and it may be of use to someone here. I paid I think £100 so I'll put that as the listed price but just looking to get shot of it now and open to offers. Condition is battered and bruised with a repair to the torsion hole a...

Re: 67 4 speed with a few upgrades

Thanks- it does look modern, maybe a bit too much so but I gave them free rein as I do have og front and rear seats for when the time comes. Comfort for the 5,000 miles a year I do in it is high on the list. I’ll have a look at the satin paint, I must say its not something I’ve noticed in the past b...

Re: New owner - 1965 912 in London, United Kingdom

Lovely looking car and looks like you have some good spares to go along with it. The (spare) wooden steering wheel you have is valuable and you'll find the car much easier to drive with a larger diameter wheel, I have the same mota lita on my Beetle - luckily you have the choice! I can highly recomm...

Re: 67 4 speed with a few upgrades

I thought I should post an end of summer update as the car has had a few more changes. The main one is the guys at Bernard Newbury have done the interior. It's not factory but was what I wanted for the car as it is used regularly to drive in and out of London. I had become partial to the funky Recar...

Re: Performance upgrades for a 912 engine

Martyn your bus sounds mad! Thanks for the input, what's the rest of the spec on your 912? Are you still on carbs?

Re: Performance upgrades for a 912 engine

Add stickers...it makes them faster :) Had that on the last one and it was like a different car! Also 1720, Webers and performance exhaust and all excess weight removed (save my own). I'm going to take Neils advice and hit the rolling road to see what I've actually got. I do have a John Maher 2276 ...

Re: Performance upgrades for a 912 engine

Some really interesting replies. My question was what upgrades can be done now that couldn't be done 10 or 20 years ago and it seems the advancements are around ingnition and induction but many tried and tested upgrades form the basis of performance upgrades still. As a side note I'm surprised that ...

Re: Performance upgrades for a 912 engine

The type 4 is a great motor, I have one in my 2 litre Bay. The 914 or Raby version would make for a strong motor.
Crank fire ignition and CDI sound a lot more practical - has anyone got practical experience?

By the way this is just a rambling thought provoking thread, I hope.
