I've just bought the S Rocker trim for my car. Cheapest place I found after a bit of ringing round was Roger Bray. About £180 + vat for all the bits.

Thanks all for the replies. I tried testing the glow plugs, the two I could reach had a resistance of 0.5 ohms which is OK apparently. The other two I can't reach without removing the water pump. I'm still not convinced though. Firstly, the glow plugs shouldn't kick in when the ambient temp is over ...

The script should be chrome too, but the engine grille changed to black for the 72 year (although mine's chrome! ) In fact, the engine grille's the only bit of black metal trim.

Off Topic - VW Diesel Problem

I know its cheeky posting this on here, but I can't think of a better place to ask and there are some real tech wizards here. I have a VW Passat 1.9TDI(2001) which only runs on 3 cylinders when cold. When warm, if I turn off the ignition and re-start it is fine. I'm selling it in about a month so no...

Radio Question

I've been looking for a period radio for a while. On all the Blaupunkts I see they seem to go from 88FM-104FM. Don't they go to 108MHz like the UK? Not sure if this is a Blaupunkt think, a 70's German thing or if I'm just plain wrong.

Anyone know??

Well, his/her feedback is spot on. If this really is dodgy as others are alleging ( ) then Manipou is a 'Top A+++ Hole' in my book.

Will Ebay do anything other than ban the ID's concerned? The postings here and on the PCGB site should protect a few people. Well done Nick.

I like the fantastically malapropistic ebayer called lutonminor1 who gives our friend Manipou feedback saying 'Top Hole A+++'

Bob, did you get your wings from Mittelmotor in the end? Mine turned up in July after a few delays. The inner wing was about £1200+vat from Porsche. I had to wait 10 weeks I think (they quoted 12 weeks). Mittelmotor might be able to get them cheaper. Yours is the same story as mine, it looked sound ...

Just don't add it to 'regular' oil! You may as well put sugar in your fuel tank.

I have heard that you should only change to Castrol R after a rebuild anyway because it really doesn't like mixing with other oils.

I'm afraid it is. Don't ask how much an inner wing costs. (or the two new outer ones that are now on top)!

I hope I never have to see inside the side members again!

I don't know if these helps but here's a new inner wing spot welded in and an original for comparison.

Couldn't you tell? we were the ones standing by the road!

None of my photo's came out very well but there were about 5 early cars there tonight plus about 3 pre-89 cars. As per the other thread on here I'm hankering towards a SWB car for my next 'investment' (ahem!)

Nice to meet you all.
