certificate of authenticity

how accurate do we consider these ?

I have recently received one for a '74 Carrera that we are working on and it reads

'black trims in chrome, chrome headlamp rings, chrome parts in black, headlamp rings coloured'

anyone make sense of that ?.........

Have a look at this recent thread: http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=32860 yes some interesting info there, especially the EH comment that the wheels are original and unrestored, goes against most of the literature I have read. Its still not clear if the detailed petals were polished...

for a '74 Carrera should the silver finish be polished or anodised, or a mixture of anodised wheels with a polished outer rim ?

i know that for the '75 models they changed to a completely painted centre, but I cannot find a reference that details the '74 wheels accurately

recaro sports seats restoration

I have a set of mid 70's recaro leather sports seats that require restoration. The seat frames and mechanisms are good, but the leather facings need to be replaced.

I have had seats restored by Southbound in the past and they were nicely done.

Any opinions on current restoration companies ?
