Perhaps as a nod to its history you could keep the Ruf badge on the bonnet. I have thought about this, but it is no longer a RUF car, its a Tech 9 car !, had it been an original RUF chassis number, fully documented, then maybe I would agree to keep the RUF heritage, but the only parts carried over ...

Great project, I look forward to following your development of the car. Another vote for posting on IB too. There was a discussion about your donor when it was for sale some time ago, so they'd be v interested to see the next chapter of its story Edit: The thread with some history of the car is her...

Is it just me or is this shell in fabulous condition? Does the dip remove any zinc on the steel? Nice project. agreed, the bodyshell is in fabulous condition, when SPL dip the chassis they also apply a rust preventative coating, which will offer some short term protection. If no further modificatio...

Hi is the "new" process a version of acid dipping and will you have to replace the heater "silencers" inside the sills? the bodyshell is acid dipped. As my car will be for competition use I have decided against a heating system (I know not smart in the winter months !) so the he...

Hi Phil The guys at SPL told me that they had done your car recently (I think it was the first 911 though their new process) when I dropped my 3.2 shell off with them the other day. It looks to be a fantastic project, and a concept close to my heart. You should consider posting this over on impactb...

chassis returns from dipping, pretty impressive the condition, considering she is 33 years old ! Only real areas of corrosion were the top and bottom of the door lock posts, plus some unsightly repairs to the left rear quarter. The great thing about dipping is that it uncovers everything, it was obv...

Birth of a rally car

Over the coming months, I intend to document our build of a tarmac rally car that will be presented for FIA/HTP papers, as a 3062 homologation 911SC A bit of background to start. My Company, Tech 9 Motorsport has been actively involved in Motorsport since 1993, solely circuit racing, and primarily w...

3.3 turbo disc bell '78-'80

I require one 3.3 turbo front disc bell. This is the 'floating' style as fitted to the 1978-1980 models. It must be made of aluminium, not steel. Not sure when they changed as I have an aluminium piece, ordered a new one from Porsche to match it, the new one arrived but it was steel not aluminium He...

74-78 911 seats

required a pair of standard 911 seats

need to have the correct fittings, frames, adjustment mechanisms for a '74 restoration

ideally with basketweave centres, in the 'blue/black' leatherette, but will consider any condition/material

I've seen Kardex like this through 1969, but have not seen any from the 1970's. The Kardex are much better than the CoA. The problem arises when the clerk has to translate the info from the Kardex or computer records to produce the CoA. If the option codes are not translated for the appropriate yea...

[quote="Guy"]Yes and no!!! The door frames and windscreeen trims were black anodised as standard on the '74 Carrera (VIN 91146xxxxx) but could be optioned in chrome or more strictly speaking bright anodised. The headlamp rings for 1974 were always chrome with either of these options. Guy, ...
