Re: With or without...

. You mentioned in another thread that you're going to be putting 7R's on - will they have black centres too or will they be 'conventional' finish ? If the latter, how about the negative side stripes in another colour - eg dark green or brown ? . Why not the reverse of this ? https://uploads.tapata...

Re: Twinplug isolator switch

. Only just seen your question Mark. I've used dash-mounted (Bosch) pull switches to isolate the ignition circuits on each of the twin-plug engined cars I've owned. The last one was my 904 replica in which I utilised 2 x MSD boxes & 2 x ignition coils - the dash switches being wired in the feed...

Twinplug isolator switch

Hello All, so I’m running a twinplug setup Perma Tune in my 914. The other week I was getting a bad miss fire and was hard to find the problem as it ticked over fine but under load you could feel it missing. So I was thinking of adding 2 isolating switches to each 3 pin box. So I could just turn off...

Re: 2.8 Rolling road report

Excellent! I'm not sure I'm reading the graph correctly - as I understand it you've got figures that compare same engine, first with single plug setup, then with twin plugs? if so a really nice way to clarify the differences on power and torque - can you confirm what they were? Also, please could y...

2.8 Rolling road report

Impressive figures. What’s the engine spec? Started as a 1974 2.7 cid. It’s now based on a 2.8 RS kind of setup including twinplug. I can dig out the cam, valve and compression info if you want? Re jetted Zeniths, and ignition is Marelli look alike with 123 ignition inners. SS BB Headers and SS Bur...

2.8 Rolling road report

Hi to All, not been on for a while. Been busy during the winter months, I decided to have a go at building a new engine for the car. Previously converted to a 2.2T which was great fun. But always thought of building my own. So went down the 2.8 twinplug path. Used the same bb headers and exhaust fro...

Re: Carpet sets

I originally bought mine from 914 Rubber. Very disappointing quality and fit. Last year I bought a set from lakewell. Excellent quality and fitted perfect. Top top quality.

Re: Camshaft nuts !....OMG !

I'm just in the process of updating my t/chain tensioners to pressure fed and replacing the chains at the same time. I was debating whether to replace the cam nuts as some "numpty" in the past has tried using a hammer and chisel to remove them!!! After reading your experiences i will leav...

Camshaft nuts !....OMG !

Some mighty pry bars! Is this something you could use an impact wrench on? I'm never sure if a quick burst with an impact gun is more or less friendly than 100kg hanging off a huge extension bar! I remember Tim (Impmad2000) having a similar experience with something (maybe the nut in the end of his...
