yes that will tell you if your ign switch is ok, make sure the wires that were on the starter are insulated before reconnecting the battery.

You need a multi meter or a test light and a willing helper. You need to check there is voltage at the small push on connector while your helper turns the ignition key to the start position. You can reach the terminal from under the car. WARNING! remember that if you were under the car and it turned...
