Mike, I'm guessing you've noticed that 911 factory racers had these early headlights fitted all the way up to 73 or even 74 even though the road cars of the same era had H1s or H4s. I can't find anyone who knows why however! Any ideas? Philip PS. According to my research if you want a match for a 73...

1973 lower dash trim, ventilation controls and knee pad

Am looking for the aluminium trim strip that runs across the lower dashboard, the dash mounted ventilation controls and knee pad for a 1973 car. Anyone know of any for sale? Thanks.

Nick, my 906 rods and bolts were measured at 445g. I'd post some pictures if I knew how.

I've been reading this topic with increasing nervousness - I have the original 1966 titanium rods in the 901/20 engine that's in my TR! Engine was rebuilt by the same Nick that did Steve's - and he had the rods crack tested before we decided to use them. The X ray images showed no sign of de...

Philip Taysom [sic] was very quick in the ex-PMJT 993RS.

I was only just quick enough to stop a certain Mr. Moss from lapping me! And not quick enough to avoid being blown away by that dark blue 1965 SWB - it did have a 2.5 short stroke in the back though!

So does that mean your car actually has to be a 911R or is it good enough that it complies with the specification of a 911R? Reason I am asking is that my 68 TR has a 901/20 motor. Am worried this makes me neither fish nor fowl as far as Appendix K is concerned.

Fetuhoe, Do you know if the twin plug engine (with correct Marelli distributor) is legal for Appendix K events for a 1968 car? I remember reading in the small print that the 901/20 engine was specifically forbidden - I assumed because the Factory Rally Kits did not homologate twin plug ignition unti...
