Re: Harry's Garage video and the Electric Car in detail

We are striving to reduce interaction with 'the system' as much as possible. Sold the all-done 'forever' house, moved to a place with some land to grow veg, its own water reservoir and a woodland (50 tonnes of wood already felled for heating). Solar and battery system going in. LPG tank for reserve ...

Reputation for being very hot inside I think.

Had a quick look at the layout. Looks like a perfect candidate for electric AC.

Re: Patinacide - crime against originality of the day

Whenever I see a car like, one word springs to mind..."Bondo"! Ah come on, I know they dumped that album into your iPhone once but you can go on blaming him forever :P I will absolutely blame him every time I jump in the car and forget to hook up my tunes. Imagine if I had a horrible acci...

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

The only thing to watch is that you still have adequate space on the inlet and outlet side of the condenser to pull in and expel the air. As I said, look at the black car on page 68 (but you don't have to put the drier in that position): https://uceb70ae58509622920460cd439c.dl.dropboxusercontent.com...

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

Whoa everybody.... 1) We are already using Boxster/996 condensers. They are the smallest OEM condensers available so forget finding a smaller one. Anything smaller won't provide enough performance anyhow. 2) Our condenser/fan/shround DOES NOT need ram air. It's fully shrouded - the fan does all the ...

Short of fuses and relays for other projects perhaps? Or valves even.

Respect, it's lovely.

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

Good to see that the kit arrived in time for your Christmas break! One thing to try first is maybe welding a nut to it. Hold an M10 over it and then mig straight down the middle and fill the nut. Might be worth preheating the broken stud first. This but weld on a washer first, this allows a decent p...

Are you sure? We mount our AC compressors in the smugglers box without drilling anything - electrical panel would be even simpler.

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?

IMO the MSD system spark interval (1ms) isn't fast enough to benefit from a fast coil.

Re: Coils and CDIs

Our CDI+ boxes work best with the correct Bosch CDI coil - it's that simple. It wasn't by accident, chance or luck - it's by design. If you set out to extract the best performance of any system in a motor car (electrical, mechanical or otherwise), you play to the strengths of that system. In this ca...
