Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

Sladeys hotrod and Mark's work over the years is the very epitome of DDK, in my opinion.

Long may it continue!

No regrets selling the rep?

Tolerably well thanks Dougie. Hope you and Kate are well too.

The time was right for me to sell and slow down! No regrets but do miss that car and the 10 Years of raucous fun!

Re: non Porsche vid of the day!

Nice video about the fab Lancia Stratos, both rally and road specs. 50 years ago.... November.... RAC rally.... Dalby forest.... Maybe 2am, pitch black and really cold.... Shrill bark of an open exhaust... Stratos with no screen and missing both fron and rear clam shells.... Flies by at unabated sp...

Mike - what you want for the wing?
If you mean me - then £150. It's in primer and has a spare pair of new inner louvres. All fixings present. Rubber is fairly flexible.

Re: Oil analysis

.....if the petrol smell is obvious there is a problem in the oil.... Simple nose test advised to me by Dave Sunderland (aka 'The Legend" at Strasse Leeds and one-time spannerman for Jack Tordoff in his heyday) advised me if one could smell petrol via the dipstick it was time to change the oil.

Re: Please forgive this video!

Many must follow the various projects to be found on classic cars on YouTube, but Jeff down in Australia, a fireman by profession, has done several cars inc a modified 911 (etc). His latest is a Ferrari engined Alfa coupe, and he has just posted on UT the 'summary' of a remarkable rebuild and modif...

Who makes the mounting blocks for the radial mounted calipers?
Igot mine as a kit (excludinh the calipers) from TRE Motorsport in the USA.

No doubt there's an enterprising soul in this country can/has also made a kit.

Re: Audi TT, any comments?

I had a diesel TT for a short time. Effortless cruising but the biggest drawback for me were the doors - they're flipping huge and I struggled to get in and out in a full/supermarket car park. I just couldn't get the door open enough... 350Z - good choice. I'd go for a Honda S2000, preferably rebuil...

50% increase seems to be par for the course these days.
Insurance on my car went from £300 to £450 recently.
I hawked around extensively before paying!
Same as you Graham, no changes at all apart from 1 year older.
