Re: Help diagnosing a suspension clonk
The knock in my case was totally unconnected to the trailing arm bushes. The failed bushes were only found during a routine check. It was only after renewing the bushes and the subsequent knock-free drive that I realised the connection! It was the metal tube in the bushes rattling/banging on the mou...

Re: Help diagnosing a suspension clonk
...do the same with the rear, sounds travel at times.... That is so true! A few years ago my 911T developed a knock that was 'obviously' coming from the front left side whilst travelling back from a visit to the Nurburgring. Several weeks of intermittent ferreting around the front suspension failed...

Re: Cayenne Insurance
Try 'By Miles' insurance.
Flat fee (i.e. parked up) then a pay per mile for usage....
If you progress then I can give you a referral link that will give us both some 'free' miles

Re: Peter Best insurance broker
Ah, insurance comes around all too quickly doesn't it? I had my everyday car insured through Direct Line and this year the premium increased by 20% for no apparent reason other than a general increase all round. So the annual search began and I ended up with 'By Miles', underwritten by AXA. An annua...

Re: Distraction thread - pics of your car
Amongst the many cars I have owned in nearly 60 years 2CV's remain the most endearing. I bought my first one after having a Cortina 1600E stolen twice in 2 weeks and written off, resulting in the loss of all my No Claims Discount. At the time I'd lost interest in speed and cars but the 2CV reinvigor...

Re: Any recomendations for a mid-rise scissor lift?
Back in 2005 Ian Donkin had the use of a mid rise lift that was owned by Steve Bradbury...see http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6272&p=42989&hilit=superpro#p42989 I believe Steve picked up the ramp by chance on one of his farm visits for a bargain price! Interestingly ...
