Yuck, glad youre OK, but its such a horrible feeling. First thing I thought when I saw it was a roundabout was Diesel on the road too though.. I have enjoyed a dice or two with you and having seen you in action wouldnt have expected you to have lost it otherwise. Another good reason for http://www.f...

Bad 356.

Since most other things have been looked at I'm back thinking its time for a profeshnial carb setting-up. I was amazed how hard it is to do well, even if you do it by the book - its a real art. And if they cant set them up they will prolly be able to tell you why..

Great news, and all the interesting things you have learned about your ass. (The one that bears you, that you need to be good unto..etc) Valves then. I learned recently how important the clearances are - I did mine as part of an annual service, and the car just wasnt herself afterwards. Sounded tapp...

Well folks, just to say thanks again, and to let you know that the total is about £460 when I add in cash donations, but the biggest proportion of which coming from the properly decent chaps that frequent these here parts. I'm right pleased with my overall time (and my mountain stage time was higher...

Youre all wonderful, thanks! Yes, drafting is the key to a good time, but not easy to do consistently in a Sportif unless youre in a team all with the same pace.

O/T: Bike race for Macmillan this weekend

Hi, I'm doing this for Macmillan on sunday, in case anyone is looking for an excuse to donate some money to our DDK charity. I am a little last minute, but donations can happen after the event too. It will be fun, but I am pledging to beat my last time of 4hr 24min - and so for every minute over 4 h...

E class feedback if you want it - we have one from the MB's darkest days, late 90's/early naughties S210 E320CDI. Its not a patch on our w123 for build, but it is huge and handsome we love it. W124 is probably better, but they are a bit austere looking for me, and the crash protection is a bit olde ...

My 912 used to idle high, it was an air leak in the end. When my 356 played up, I was advised to look for the same thing - spraying (carb cleaner?) around the joins to the inlet brings the idle down briefly as the leak seals over..apparently. My 356 problem was indeed junk in the idle jets in the en...

Just a subtle and quiet tic-tic-tic-tic as the engine idles, disappears at revs. I turned it over by hand - tic - there, something's rubbing. Belt off, pulley off and flippin eck, grenade about to blow! In the next ten miles by the looks of it. Keep listening to your steeds, folks.. http://i172.phot...

That was a grand day indeed, thanks for the pic Brendan! Yes Verity the Maserati is staying. After a little expensive coaxing over the past year (ABS ECU, front suspension arms and balljoints, rear shocks) she is now coping rather well as a slightly aloof but swift 3-days-a-week driver. If I keep he...

Got my old 964 C4 back - it was meant to be..

Strangely, after selling my '89 964 a year ago as a rusty non-runner with oil leaks and ABS issues, I seem to have just bought her back as a rusty runner, with oil leaks and possibly fixed ABS issues, for a whopping £5 less than I sold her for. Hooray! Rather a contrast to driving the Maserati back ...

Funny, this weekend I saw on youtube that the Noisettes video for 'Never forget you' has a speedster rep playing a big part, although Shingai just lounges about in it, and puts her big silver dockers on the upholstery...tsk Also worth a look for her fab mad bass guitar though. Cant post a link as I'...
