Not surprised that went so quickly, what a lovely thing.
Nice subtle design, with some 70's 60's and 50's all in one. I'm not a big watch guy and have always been happy with my speedy and swatch, but that Heuer had me wondering must admit...good job it sold. Get thee behind me, Bootsy!

If! Couldnt part with the faithful old thing I'm afraid. It'd be like shooting your favourite hound when he got a bit blind and smelly..

Wouldnt assume engine needs a rebuild..was it start up smoke or proper oil smoke? After 10 years on Rennlist I have seen so many 964's bottom up rebuilt because of just oil leaks and a bit of mileage, but almost none because they were actually showing signs of terminal internal wear like smoking or ...

Great, so lots of folks use 20/50 year round, and I'm not the only one who's car runs cool..
I need a couple of parts so will be speaking to PRS soon, so will ask the boys..although last time I called for parts a FEMALE dealt with my order, of all things. What is the world coming to...

Yep it was Mike who advised me about the VR 20w50. I was wondering if there was something about the 356 engine that meant it was happier with the thick stuff all year round..
It does get a touch parky round here, though..

356 and winter oil

Hello, what lovely weather we are having..the roads are dry and dusty and the sun is shining..well, in Fife anyway. And so its 356 time, but I worry about the 20w50 oil on these winter mornings. Not only that, but my car has always taken ages to warm up, and now with an external oil filter its even ...

Thanks guys and stu for the voice of experience, and vix on the pm. My dremmel came with a block of reddish stuff, I might try one of the lighter scratches with that. I can feel none of them dragging my nail, but all of them pushing it! I guess the alternative is tailgating a gritter for a mile or 2...

How to get scratches out of glass?

Note to self, never use a garage jet wash in the dark. Was de-salting the 964 t'other evening and must have dragged the jetwash hose over the car. I might as well have dragged a chain across it.. The 964 isnt pampered and I've used a jetwash loads of times, but there must have been loads of gr...

Yes, I'm going to pipe up of course! As y'all know, I love my 964. Have used it like a Toyota for the past 9 years, as well as all over europe, and it still makes me smile, and glance back when I park it. Perfect mix of modern/classic 911. Modern interior, unlike 3.2 with its very 80's stick and whe...

original Porsche 356 by Lawrence Meredith

My step Dad has the meredith VW beetle book which is a lovely thing, lush photos, so I thought I would pick up Meredith's 356 book on amazon hoping it would be as nice..but its hundreds of pounds. Motorbooks dont list it.. I thought the Pellow books were pricey, sheesh..Am I missing somethin...

I think you are playing it down , or maybe getting tied up in details that the insurance company probably wont get into and 30k is about right. A fair condition RHD B should beworth at least 25 and you have at least 5k of parts on it, so thats it. Some shiny pics and a mention that there are other s...

Cheapie 4.5 x 15 steel wheel x1

Hi, I need a spare for my C. Ideally scruffy, but must be true, datestamps not important.

Would consider a set of 4.

Cheers, Johnny
