Hello out there DDKers!! Sorry I haven't communicated since before Christmas but I hope you all had a good one and are enjoying a great start to 2018!! I may be finally getting to a point where I am able to rent out Chris's premises, it's been an extremely long and difficult process!! In the event t...

Thank you, once again Neil for organizing, it was brilliant not to miss the Christmas tradition without our leader!! You guys are such great company and made me feel really welcome! Re: London Christmas Dinner Orange Tree Wed 13 Dec 7pm

Hi Neil I'm so glad that you are organizing this! It used to be one of Chris's little missions he had to complete and from beginning of November it was spread sheets of who was coming and who was eating what! Always a lovely event and it would be great to attend albeit in different circumstances - I...

Re: Chris Turner stickers

Just popped on to DDK - it's been a long while! Just received the stickers from James - they are lovely, and it brought a tear to my eye to see them so proudly displayed in your vehicles on here! Thanks guys, it means a lot!

Thank you for your continued support!

Re: Sitting with Chris Turner

I have managed to sort the funeral out for Friday 2nd June at 2pm. It will be in the Ogden Chapel at south west Middlesex Crematorium, Hanworth then afterwards at the Fairmile in Cobham! Seemed the obvious choice as there is plenty of parking there! Please bring a picture of your car or Chris with a...

Re: My engine won't come out

Thanks for all of the suggestions folks. I like obvious - obvious is normally the culprit. I have no aux air pump, but the clutch mini lever and little spring, plus circlip and longer lever with monster round spring are removed, but not the starter motor, where I've just disconnected the cables - i...

Re: My engine won't come out

Forgive me for suggesting the obvious (if that is the case). Have you removed the clutch omega spring arm and the short clutch operating lever completely , and the starter motor ? Have you removed the auxiliary air pump and it's holding bracket completely? If you have then it seems likely that the b...

Re: Brake wibble

Depends on the diameter of the brake disc but anything above 0.002" may start to give symptoms like pulsing of the brake pedal. If you take your car to your nearest friendly mot station and get them to put it on the brake testing rollers, with light but constant pedal pressure if the needle on ...

Re: Brake wibble

Sam, the poor quality of materials currently used in most manufacturers brake discs almost ensures run-out developing after a few hundred miles. For this reason many manufacturers insist that on car disc brake lathes are installed at all their main dealers. Porsche GB, and many independents like mys...

R.I.P Steve Hewlett

Very sad to hear the death of Steve.

He broadcast a series of interviews on radio 4 over the last few months detailing his ways of coping with his terminal diagnosis and the subsequent treatment, hopes and fears as his treatment progressed.
