Re: Fan shroud removal - engine out?

Thanks both - I will check these locations. It doesn't seem to be coming down from the heads - hence suspect oil cooler circuit - but if I can visualise from the generator apperture that will confirm the plan!

Fan shroud removal - engine out?

My 912 has developed serious incontinence in her old age. She’s a’drippn from the bottom of the gearbox where it mounts to the engine and all my nice clean engine oil is falling to the floor. I suspect it is coming from the top of the engine somewhere in the oil cooler circuit as it was triggered ye...

Re: Temporary garage / shelter

+ 1 for the Clarke garage / tent. I used one on the concrete foundation slab for my new garage for about 2 years. I bolted it down using some concrete anchors and I modified the front and rear "doors" to prevent them flapping into the car. I think the idea is that air should flow through a...

Ian Gunney clocked this picture of my old 912 on Instagram - now with a friend of Johnny Graham’s - still with him JG? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200614/6af5261caa6f419a84b017e814a19e8c.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, I still have it! Re: Any recomendations for a mid-rise scissor lift?

https://www.automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-7532b-3-2t-mid-rise-scissor-lift/ +1 for this company. an excellent product and great aftersales and tech support. Mid rise lift and I use mine all the time. It's a 2 minute job to lift any car in the air and so much easier to work on wheels / suspens...

993 Kinematic Toe Tool

Does anyone here have access to the Porsche or aftermarket kinematic toe adjustment tool for the 993?

I'm keen to either borrow one (for charge or donation to DDK) or have someone sketch the dimensions so I can fabricate one for setting up my car.

Thanks

David.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Frustrating day. Took the 356 out and the engine sounded super smooth with fresh oil. Unfortunately the brake pedal went hard and soft. I talked Mrs B into pumping the brake for me, instead of using the pressure bleeder, and got a super firm brake pedal. Took for another drive and became soft again...

Re: Considering buying a 993 - advice welcome!

if you're looking at RHD , be prepared to view some seriously crap cars before you find a decent one.... this applies even more so for 964's. Both times Ive been looking I've always been amazed out how rough a lot of the cars were .. dealers being some of the worst offenders. Also , do drive a RHD ...

Re: Considering buying a 993 - advice welcome!

My 993 C4 is hewn from granite and has been the least troublesome of any car in the 13 years I have had it. It’s required wear and tear items such as a clutch, suspension and exhausts but the only failure has been a window control switch. To be fair it was bought when it was a lot newer and bought w...

I have a load of CTEK smart chargers / conditions. All the cars and mower are plugged in 24/7 whilst in the garage. It does its own thing by restoring depleted batteries, maintains and apparently conditions th too. I’ve not had an issue in 10+ years and know of others who do the same with bikes, car...
